About this listing
Located between two exceptional monasteries, in the very centre of the medieval town of Šibenik, this self-sufficient apartment exudes an exquisite quality of arty boho chic with a rare touch of vintage. Cosy and gorgeous, it has one separate bedroom with a large confortable double bed. The large sofa in the living room area can be turned into a double bed too, thus welcoming four people in all. With its ideal location in the pedestrian zone of the town, it has countless restaurants, open street music events, festivals and cafés offrering a breath-taking view of the sea. To make your stay in Šibenik unforgettable, I will be very happy to give you the keys of the town and inform you about all the things and places not to be missed …so you can truly experience the essence of the Croatian art de vivre.
We had a wonderful time in Sibenik thanks to Danira! Her flat is lovely and decorated with style. It's located in the heart of old Sibenik, but it keeps calm. But the best is Danira's welcoming : she has a lot of good advises about Sibenik and surrounds and she is very accomodating. Thanks a lot, Danira! We definitely recommend it!
A very nice welcome in a splendid city. We loved Sibenik and the flat is well located.
Parking is a bit difficult, but with Danira's indications, we always found spaces less than 10 min away.
Don't expect to cook a lot, but the small kitchen was enough for us.
Très chouette apppartement dans un quartier très agréable : le centre de la vieille ville de Sibenik. Nous recommandons pour passer de bonnes vacances :)
Perfect location, the place is nice and cosy. Danira recommended us to go at Pelegrini for diner and it was very good.
Daniras apartment was fantastic! The photos on airbnb really don't do it enough justice. Beautifully decorated, very homely and clean and in a fantastic location in the old town. Danira was very helpful and easy to get hold of when we needed :) we'd definitely come back here! thanks heaps Danira!
Stepping into Danira's apartment was immediately welcoming and comfortable. The photographs on Airbnb don't do it justice - it had so many quirky homely touches and, although we didn't meet Danira due to other demands on her time, her friend Imre was there to greet us and Danira contacted us regularly to make sure everything was okay.
Sibenik is a wonderful town and the apartment is right in the heart of the old town, surrounded by medieval churches and steeped in history. There's no traffic unless you include the occasional tour group trooping up the hill and the nuns going to and from the convent. There is a whole labyrinth of alley ways to discover, all paved in polished limestone and a photogenic moment around every corner.
Our favourite restaurants were Sesula (great cheap food and fast wifi - don't ask for wine though!!), Zora (fantastic value in pizzas and wine!) and Pelligrini (for more pricey, upmarket food and a wonderful ambiance in the courtyard). The cathedral choir was practicing in the building adjacent to Pelligrini's the night we went, and it couldn't have been more atmospheric.
Don't miss out on visiting the Krka National Park - the waterfalls are spectacular!! Sibenik beach was okay, but the water was very cold as it's more river estuary than Adriatic. There are supermarkets nearby, but there's a huge daily market near the bus station that sold local produce - fish, seafood, fruit, vegetables, olive oil, wine, bread, pastries, etc.
Game of Thrones was being filmed around the cathedral one day while we were there - for GoT fans, it represents a temple in Bravos!
We had problems getting the wifi in the apartment to work, but it was a good excuse to hang out in Sesula when we needed to be in contact with the outside world. There were other bars and restaurants with wifi and there is an open Sibenik wifi that was occasionally available in certain places.
About the Host, Danira
I was born in Sibenik, Dalmatia and love spending my summers there but living in Zagreb rest of the year. Also lived in London for 15 years before I decided to return to my roots. As an actress, love theatre, movies but most of all spending time with my little son.
