ROOM DESCRIPTION: Private rooms are for one individual, have locks on doors, and come with a sink. Kitchen, toilet, shower rooms are shared, and professionally cleaned each day. This is a dorm-style atmosphere with great long-term tenants, international travelers, and a friendly on-site manager. Please bring your own towel. This room is similar to the others I have listed, that's why I am just using the same photo. For views of the premises look at the other properties. Thank you for not requesting additional photos of the rooms.
INTERNET: Free wi-fi is available in the living room and dining area, but due to usage it can be VERY slow. If you rely upon wi-fi for work you should arrange your own wireless modem or you can go to starbucks nearby.
PARKING: Free street parking is available nearby (but it goes quickly), otherwise it is $4.00/day at the meters or $4.00/day at the nearby lot. Metered spots are enforced from 6 am - 4 pm and they also cost $4.00 per day.
GETTING THERE: From LAX take the FlyAway bus ($7.00 one way) to Union Station, then take the Gold Line to the Little Tokyo stop. The building is two short blocks away.
WEEKEND ARRIVAL: Please keep in mind that if you are arriving on a Saturday or Sunday the manager may not be there in person to let you in, but there is a lockbox from which you retrieve your keys.
CHECKING IN: Check-in is at 3 pm, Check-out is at 12 noon. Once your reservation is accepted you will receive a phone number for the on-site manager, Alex (different from the one currently listed). Please contact him immediately to discuss check-in details. Please do not wait until the last minute to call. Thank you!
SECURITY DEPOSIT: Because most of our tenants are long-term guests, our security deposit is the equivalent of one month's rent. The deposit is held by Airbnb through your credit card and they will return it to you after your stay. We have had a couple hundred individual reservations with our building and have only had to make deductions for damages a couple of times. If you are a responsible guest, you should have no worries.
ADDITIONAL GUESTS: Additional guests are not allowed without prior notification and prior permission given by the host. Unless agreed to otherwise, any additional guests who stay past 10 pm will be charged an additional $10 per night. If an additional guest is brought without prior permission and paid for in advance, you may lose your security deposit or have your reservation cancelled. Thank you in advance for not bringing overnight guests without prior permission.
Shared bathrooms are cleaned daily, as is the shared kitchen. Laundry facilities are on site. We have a communal, international atmosphere.

The room was exactly as advertised, it was clean and had every little mod-con for an enjoyable stay.
The kitchen, common room and the small outdoor patio were really well kept as were the bathrooms.
Getting the keys was easy and hassle free, as was the check out. The instructions I was given were specific and clear that I was left with no doubt from the get-go.
Correspondence with Alex was fast and very professional.
I think these accomadations are pretty much exactly as described and they fit my needs perfectly (a private, clean space with room enough on the floor to stretch, yoga and vocal warmups!) !! When I arrived to LA my original plans for housing unfortunately didn't work out-- I messaged Jefferson in a panic and although no rooms were immediately available he answered me promptly and said that he would alert me when something was open --which he did a few days later!! I booked then and have since decided to extend my stay! As someone had already booked my specific room after my original checkout date, I just went ahead and booked another room. No problem. But when Jefferson saw this he again messaged me and said he would try to arrange it with the other guest so I wouldn't actually have to switch rooms!! Make everything easier and stay where I am!! Sweet!! So he is very helpful, communicative and considerate. Great experience with him. Alex, who is the building manager here is also really kind and awesome. We always chat when I see him in the hallway and even had the pleasure of meeting his sweet little girl once. Another guest moved out recently and left behind a mini fridge which he generously offered me (they do have a communal fridge in the kitchen but this is just a nice extra u know?) Also, I can always text Alex if I ever have a question or issue. Kind man.
The room itself is pretty much as described. I even think the mattress itself is actually much nicer than the thin one in the photo. Sink, mirror, closet, desk, chair, heater, window, mini desk fan. Everything is clean as Alex cleans all the communal areas everyday. I haven't cooked in the kitchen but I see a lot of people doing it. There is a kettle and toaster there and pots and pans and such. Obviously bring your own soap, shampoo etc. The only other thing I would say is that although the bed has a sheet and a thinnish comforter I would sometimes still be chilly at night. But again, another guest gave me an extra blanket! So if you are often cold like me, just be aware of that. Also the wifi is usually fine but every once in a while it gets spotty. However there are multiple trendy coffee shops around with good wifi. I usually go to Toms Coffee (cheap!) at the Tokyo Galleria a few blocks down-- also where u can get groceries etc. The neighborhood is great, arts district, very trendy!!
Basically a nice, private room. Everything u need if u need the basics! Lots of students, internationals, artists! Never had a bad experience with anyone-- Im actually looking to extend my stay again. Thanks Jefferson!! Thanks Alex!!

Simple, super barebones location - 2 blocks from the metro station and Little Tokyo. My room was clean, the bathrooms are older, but fine. Bring towels, soap, shampoo, etc and shower shoes. Also laundry on site and a large shared kitchen if you need. Individual sinks in rooms. I felt safe. Worked out for me especially since I was so busy I just needed a place to sleep.
The host was accommodating to my late arrival and I felt I could always be able to communicate with him. The location was amazing! I walked to the Tokyo Plaza and ate at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. At night I also walked and stumbled upon by a full bar/antique arcade/pinball/food truck spot called eighty two(82) that was walking distance. The last day I visit the Buddhist temple that is just in front and listened to a Buddha give his wise words in Japanese while a translator would convert the sentences in English. I felt it was a great way to start my last day in LA. I would definitely stay here again because the price for the location was extremely convenient. Thank you!
