This is a beautiful area for walking. The place is unique in its rural location and vistas. It is particularly popular with walkers, artists and writers. Nearby we also own a small lake which stock brown trout.
The nearest shops are a 35 min walk. The nearest pub is a short walk (20 min). It also has an indian restaurant attached!
There is no public transport - we can provide a bicycle if needed!
We stayed at the cottage for one week and had just a brilliant time! the house is very cosy and Seamus and Fiona fantastic hosts. We loved the beautiful walks one can do around the house.
Fiona was very straightforward and helpful to deal with. The cottage is as described and has everything you could need during your stay. The cottage is also in a very beautiful location.
My wife, daughter, and I spent 3 nights at Fiona's cottage. We were visiting from Toronto, Canada and had already spent 10 days rushing around Southern England and Wales. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, cared for, and provided with all the information needed to fully enjoy the area.
The cottage is wonderful with all the amenities you could ever need, and the location is stunning - mountain views, a local pub, and gorgeous beaches just minutes away! The nights are lovely and quiet and lucky for us, our 3-year old daughter made a new friend with Fiona's daughter!
We absolutely recommend this wonderful cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful experience in the heart of Donegal!

My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful time staying in this lovely traditional Irish cottage. Be prepared for a rather remote but utterly beautiful location, with a stunning mountain view. Fiona and Seamus were very helpful hosts, and made many great suggestions about what to see in the area. A perfect place to stay in northwest County Donegal.

Fiona's house was lovely and fully furnished. Perfect to discover Donegal County. We especially enjoyed the wood fire given the Irish weather ! Nice walking and we recommend cider and curry at the local pub! Fiona herself was very friendly.
Excellent. Cosy at Christmas.
Coming from a hot, busy, crowded European city to meet Seamus & Fiona was almost like a fairy for me. The location is very rural but worth every second of the time you're there.
Surrounded by beautiful mountains, very colorful landscape Fiona's & Seamus's cottage is a gem of a find. The cottage is really gorgeous, very warm, has everything one needs. You could happily stay inside and never go out, but you just have to go gallivanting. Everyone who comes here will leave with some great memories.
Highly recommended, sadly missed already...
We stayed in Fiona and Seamus's charming cottage for two nights.. We were tempted to stay for a third night, but didn't have the time to do so.. The cottage is lovely, clean, cosy, well-furnished and well-appointed. We didn't meet Fiona, who was unavoidably away, but met Seamus, and young John. Seamus was helpful and keen that we had a pleasant stay and ensured that we had everything we needed.. which we did. We would definitely stay there again.. and will definitely be back to Donegal, a truly and dramatically beautiful county!
