My husband and I had a wonderful stay on Helene's houseboat. The location couldn't be any better, and the view is so romantic! A true Paris experience! The nicely decorated boat was cozy and comfortable and roomy enough to feel at home for our 5 day stay. The internet service worked perfectly. We stayed during November, when the weather was chilly, and the heaters worked great. We turned them off when we left in the morning and once we got back in the evening, it only took a few minutes for the rooms to warm up. In the past, I have gotten seasick on boats very easily but didn't have a problem adjusting to the occasional gentle rocking from passing boats. In fact, it was like being rocked to sleep at night. The bed is very comfortable and I slept better than I do at home! The tub is full sized and there is plenty of hot water for baths. The kitchen is well appointed but I could only find one coffee cup! The stairs as shown in the picture are narrow and a little tricky, especially if you have bulky luggage. Helene is a very attentive host and has guests coming and going. Our plane arrived very early in the morning, but we couldn't check in until 3 in the afternoon , which is common in hotels. We dragged our luggage with us, but learned later that some of the museums have a luggage storage. This was our first time staying in an airbnb, so we didn't remember that there wouldn't be a concierge to store our luggage for us until we could check in. Some of the train stations have luggage lockers too, but not the one closest to the boat.
This was the perfect place to stay in Paris! It was spacious, well appointed, peaceful, and the location was simply amazing - mere steps from the Champs de Mars station and Eiffel Tower. We were greeted by swans swimming beside the craft on several mornings, and what a joy it was to walk along the Seine each day. Helene was a terrific host and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend the St Antoine to our friends and acquaintances!
The reservation was canceled 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
What an amazing vacation! The location of Helene's houseboat was perfect! And she made the arrangements for check in and check out very easy. I would definately stay here again!
My wife, daughter and I just returned from Paris and Helene's boat. We really enjoyed it! It was such a unique experience. I think it will be a vacation we will talk about for many years to come!
Make sure you put the "plank" up. People try to get on the boat to take pictures as they walk by and this will discourage them.
It is small. Three or four people is the max you would want on the boat.
The shower is small, but works fine if you are under 6 feet.
It was really neat to host a few friends on the boat for a glass of wine.
The location is really close to the C train and Bir Hakeim line. You can see the boat when you get off the train, but you cant hear it from the boat.
It is neat to have the Eiffel Tower so close. You get to see it everyday!!!
The boat was clean.
The view at night with the Tower sparkling was UNBELIEVABLE. We sat out at the table on the deck every night and had a glass of wine and watched the tower sparkle.
The boats rocked, but nothing like you have on a cruise ship. It was very slight, almost like you were on land.
Helene was very helpful and responsive. She speaks english well (which helps since I speak no French.).
I will recommend her boat to my friends and family in the future!

About the Host, Helene
Very happy to greet you on our houseboat, located right under the Eiffel tower ! This houseboat has been our home for 8 years now, with our soon. In winter 14/15 we will be living elsewhere (we keep the rental of course) but will be back in our unit on July 15 !
AS for us, we love living on the water, it gives us such a great feeling of freedom and uniqueness ! We love to chill out on the deck with friends, relax, watch the boats and the sawns, and enjoy the sunset with a glass of vine from there.
But we are also in love and very busy with Paris urban life, as all the city jhas to offer is so close from our secret paradise.
We have renovated the boat ourselves. It has been since then displayed in many magasine and TV shows, is listed in Louis Vuitton Paris City Guide and rated Airbnb Top40 over the world !
