Interaction with Guests
I like to be on hand to offer brochures, maps, a Cardiff A-Z street map, local advice and to give the guests a tour of the house and where they can access. See my 'Guidebook' for recommendations.
I like my guests to be fed and watered, so always ask.
I love a drink and a chat with guests around the kitchen table, there's nothing better.
I can order cabs for guests, book a restaurant and occasionally get rugby tickets.
SEE MY GUIDEBOOK FOR LOCAL RECOMMENDATIONS.
It's not the nicest of place names, Splott, however, it is an historical part of the city with it's working class character and has what I need to survive, locally. It's a true flavour of Cardiff living and you would also get to hear a proper Cardiff accent!
There's a parade of local shops for food, drink, fresh bread, cashpoints, Post Office, nailbar and 2 fantastic cafes, which I highly recommend.
Splott is on the edge of the city centre, so it's just a 10mins drive or a walkable 25mins distance. Two bus services serve the area very well. You only have to walk 5mins to a bus stop and local shops. Please note that street parking is FREE, here!!!

Only had a short stay with Rossi. But if I was to visit Cardiff again then I would come back here.
It was a pleasure staying at Rossi! Very warm and friendly all in all, had nice chats on the kitchen table and the room was very good and clean. Can highly recommend the experience :)
Fabulous experience. Rossi was so welcoming and caring. Nice and clean place, good breakfast and devoted host. What else ?
Thanks Rossi, i am grateful.
Rossi is an absolutely fantastic host! She helped me figure out how to travel easily between the train station and her house, she warmly welcomed me upon arrival, she provided me with shampoo and body wash when I realized I'd forgotten mine, she helped me with directions around the town, prepared a lovely breakfast for me... The list goes on and on. Rossi hit every detail on the head. If you're ever coming through Cardiff, definitely stay with her. You won't be disappointed.
Oh final awesome thing: the taxi fare from the central station to her house ran me only £5.40. Ridiculously reasonable!
I'm not entirely sure where to start!
We were all completely blown away by Rossi's hospitality.
Her house is lovely, warm and full of character. The bathrooms are clean. She did everything she could to ensure that our weekend in Cardiff was one to remember. She gave us great recommendations for eating and drinking and was so generous in helping us with reservations and booking taxis. She cooked a fantastic Welsh breakfast for us both mornings and made sure that all 11 of us were kept happy. Her place is close enough to town to wander into, the area felt perfectly safe. As a group, we just took taxis to and from town since it was then cheaper than getting the bus. We also had a car and there was always somewhere for us to park, right outside.
She provided us with maps and even brought our keys into town when most of our group forgot theirs. She was great to chat with - we learnt a lot about life in Wales! She even helped us get an extra rugby ticket last minute.
She was so ready and willing to do all that she could to make our weekend a memorable.
I highly recommend her as a host and her place for somewhere to stay when visiting Cardiff. She really blew all of our expectations out of the water.
Thank you so much, Rossi!
There is no need to be worried about Rossi house. Our stay lived up to expectations. The rooms and facilities were as described. The house was warm and comfortable. The location is quiet. It is NOT on a through route and we only heard the railway when the window was open. I hope no one will be put off by the house being in Splott. It is close enough to the city centre to walk and taxis are easily obtained (ours was £7 to the middle of Roath - further than city centre). Rossi could not be more helpful and welcoming She coped well with our invasion (7 adults and 2 little children).

Guests are politely asked to understand that my own bedroom is only offered up when all 3 other bedrooms are booked. See full details, as per the listing.
THERE ARE NO SINGLE BEDS OR SINGLE ROOMS.
I enjoy all aspects of being a host, providing a big Welsh breakfast, having a chat over a vino, giving visitor information on the capital and helping guests as much as possible.
As for things I like, I'm a huge rugby fan, keen independent traveller, current affairs, entertaining friends at home, socialising in the city, talking about the Welsh language, cinema, photography, comedy nights at The Glee Club, Curb Your Enthusiasm, home baking and a large glass of vino calapso after a hectic week.
I appreciate good communication with potential guests so that their stay is as pleasant and hassle free as possible. I'd like to think that I go an extra mile for guests, so if you want me to put some beers in the fridge, a heated footspa, or some Welsh cakes on your arrival, just ask.
Cardiff is a great big-little-city which caters for all ages, genres and budgets. Pack your comfy shoes, the city centre is pretty flat and bike hire will whizz you from Llandaff Cathedral down to Cardiff Bay in a flash. We got it all going on in the Principality, so come and stay soon!
