We are offering our entire upstairs suite - 3 rooms plus a private balcony - to travelers to Western Colorado who want to experience a more authentic and home-like base for their mountain adventures. The suite has a comfy king-sized bed, a full bath with shower and tub, and a large sunroom/sitting room with a table, small fridge, and coffee maker (not to mention unobstructed mountain views.) There is a small covered private balcony off the bedroom, great for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening, when the setting sun casts its warm glow on the Cimarron Mountains. Parking is free and once settled, you can walk to everything in town...Colorado Boy Micro-Brewery for locally crafted beer and artisan pizza, the Adobe Inn for the absolute best chips, salsa, and fresh Mexican dishes you've ever eaten, the historic True Grit Bar and Grill, antique shops, skate park, whitewater park on the Uncompahgre, the library, town park, the riverwalk, brand new community tennis courts, bike rentals, etc. Ouray, with its giant hot springs pools and world-class ice-climbing is 10 min. drive and Telluride, home to world-class skiing and festivals is 40 min. drive.
We are down to earth, easy-going , nice people and you should be, too, if you want to share our home. Our entrance is shared, but the staircase to the suite (see photos) is right by the door, so if you are seeking privacy, no problem. There is no TV, but the room is supplied with an IPhone music docking station. We have a Jacuzzi and your private use can be arranged. We ask that you be reasonably clean, reasonably quiet, respectful of our home, and we will give you as much love as you want!
We welcome gay and lesbian travelers to our home. Of course.
Beverly's home is as gracious as she is. She went above and beyond to make our stay an easy one. The radiant floor heating is awesome. And the amazing view of the mountains (that you can see from bed!) has to be seen to be believed. Thanks, Beverly!
We spent an enjoyable three days in Mountain View while exploring Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Ouray, Telluride and the Million Dollar Highway. The bed indeed is comfy, the towels are thick and one can easily relax there. Nice views, handy park, and the quiet of small town living are there to enjoy.
I enjoyed my four-night stay at Beverly's place immensely, and didn't want to leave when my time was up!
The rooms were pleasant to wake up in and return to, with the sun room doubling as a lightning room if you're lucky enough to be there to witness a fantastic electrical storm over the mountains! The views are just wonderful. The bed is ultra comfortable and very welcoming after a long day's hike in the mountains. (Try the Sneffels Highline trail out of nearby Telluride.)
Beverly was very responsive and accommodating from beginning to end. For example, I had to change my travel itinerary when Estes Park/RMNP closed due to flash flood damage. I contacted her just a few days before my visit and asked if I could book an extra two nights in Ridgway, and she responded affirmatively and promptly. And I'm so glad for the extra two nights I spent here; I quickly saw that two would not have been nearly enough.
Beverly was also full of great tips, e.g., don't miss the pastries and other grab-and-go breakfast items from the grocery market down the street.
I look forward to staying at Beverly's place again during future travel to southwestern CO!
Can't say enough positives. Simply fantastic. Planning next trip already. Thanks.
What a gorgeous house in a stunning setting. Beverly wasn't there when we visited so we had the top floor to ourselves. There are no curtains in the sun room which adjoins the bedroom and we were worried about the room being too light but it was glorious to be woken up. as the sun rose over the valley. We can attest to the great artisan pizza place nearby, and the Mexican food round the corner. It's probably worth mentioning the top floor of the house is not well equipped for self catering... If you want to cook more than tea/coffee it is not the place for you. We loved it, though.
The house is lovely! Beverly is a responsive and reasonable host. I would stay there again if I am in the area. We had a wonderful stay in Colorado.
Just an incredible stay in a fabulous home in Ridgway. The upstairs master bedroom was immaculately clean and very tastefully decorated. It has a super soft king bed, its own neat bathroom, and a sun room full with windows overlooking the very beautiful the valley and mountain tops. There is even a small refrigerator for keeping the munchies fresh with water bottle, milk and coffee/tea maker.
The Coburns are the kind of hosts one dreams to encounter: welcoming, kind, warm, generous (Beverly is a super cook), and great conversationalists. You will be very lucky to spend some time with Beverly, David, Will, Henry and their two (sometimes three) adorable dogs. Very, very highly recommended.
What an excellent place to stay. The room is heavenly, the views spectacular and the bed was so comfy! We hiked every day, soaked away our sore muscles in the hot springs and had marvelous food, all within a few miles (or walking distance) of the room. I will not stay anywhere else next time we are in the Ridgway, CO area.
what a beautiful, sunny, spacious space! looking forward to going back. beverly makes it easy to have a good time...
What a find! The upstairs room is luxurious, private, sunny and comfortable. We couldn't have asked for a nicer spot. Beverly and Dave are wonderful hosts, helping us navigate the area. We enjoyed some drinks with them and they even gave us some snowshoes to use. We're looking forward to coming back:-)
