Interaction with Guests
I love to interact with guests, but equally respect their need for downtime and privacy.
Quiet diverse neighborhood that is filled with friendly people.
Public Transportation in South Austin is not the best. Having a car is easiest unless you are an avid bicyclist. Bike rentals are available downtown.
Other Things to Note
I am happy to provide complimentary transportation to and from the airport if necessary. If you are coming during a weekend or during a Festival (ACL/SXSW) and you don't want to rent a car, there is a good possibility that I can assist with transportation (I am also an Uber driver)
Please treat my home with care and respect. Only those guests that have been approved may stay in my home. No street parking, quiet hours are from 10pm - 7am.
When we arrived our host greeted us and was extremely friendly; she showed us around the house and gave us the information/keys we needed in order to come and go as we pleased. She also had coffee/tea and fruit available whenever we wanted. About a 15 minute drive from downtown Austin. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this airbnb host to others!
Tammy and her mother were just the sweetest most helpful ladies ever. They made my sister and I feel at home and very welcome. Oh and they offered us coffee and muffins for breakfast! Lol
Unfortunately I was unable to stay at Tammy's due to my endurance event lasting much longer than expected. However, she was an excellent host, regardless. Great and consistent communication, concerned that I had a good stay in Austin, and kind. I will definitely contact her for future trips to Austin.
Very good place. Master Bedroom suite was large with own bath. Very good bed. Everything working well. Typical american bungalow, quite solid, with great living-kitchen-area and very nice terrace and garden-aera. House-runner Tammy is absolutely great to be and definetly a serious person. all in all very easy in handling. in the night it’s quiet. Typical US village cluster with all you need 2 miles away, so all in all nothing to compain.

About the Host, Tammy
I love the outdoors, gardening, landscaping, working on my fishpond, and hosting backyard house concerts with musicians from all over the country. All these things make me incredibly relaxed and at peace. My home and yard is truly an Oasis from the craziness life can throw at me. It helps make sense of the world for me.
When I'm not able to spend time doing those things, I am the president and founder of a local 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization called ATX Kids Club that offers educational clubs, summer camps, and After-school Adventures to elementary aged students. I am also a Legalshield Member and Associate, which allows me the opportunity to offer memberships to others that are interested in affordable legal services. I have previously been an Assistant Principal and Elementary School Teacher for K-5th Grade. In my free time, I love to be outdoors. I have 2 dogs (Scout and Roxanne) and an Orange Tabby cat (Tiggs). I enjoy spending time out and about with friends as well as peaceful times alone. Austin has become my home after spending most of my years in the North-eastern part of the US (PA/MD). I have been here for about 6 years and can't imagine living anywhere else. People ask why Austin, and other than the warm temperatures that I prefer, it's the people here. Austin is a small city filled with people from other places. It creates a city that is filled with people that live here intentionally and love being here. So, I believe the outcome of this, is a city filled with happy people. There is so much to do here always but it's not too big that you feel overwhelmed by it being a city. You can participate or not, but having the option so close is very nice. Austin is becoming a huge hotspot for tourism and people relocating. Our economy is doing well and our Real Estate is reasonably affordable. I hope you consider taking a trip to this wonderful city!
