The space
This is a gorgeous, meticulously designed, pastoral yet modernized, former 1800’s barn with open floor plan retreat and completed with stained glass windows from New York City’s illustrious Chelsea Hotel!
Be taken over by tranquility, baby goats frolicking in the adjacent field or wander the 100 acres to discover the apple trees, blueberries, raspberries, wild flowers and the running river at the back of the property. In the summer, enjoy the sea of fire flies that light up the darkness across the field or star gaze after dinner.
After years of looking for the perfect upstate property, this 100 acre Victorian estate became available and we knew we'd finally found it! The land is spectacular, the house and out buildings had so much history and promise.
The renovation of this cottage was a labor of love and the final result is something I could not be happier with. This is an ideal country retreat, with plenty of food/activity options within close driving distance. Hudson's main street, Warren Street, is only a two-minute drive. The river on property is a short hike from the cottage where you can enjoy wine and charceuterie tastings held by Hudson Chatham Winery’s Culinary Institute Chef/Owners.
The cottage itself is airy and open and perfect for couples to escape, cook, and relax in. Outside, there's a patio (right off the sleeping area) and a fire box, gas grill & seating area, so in nice weather, you'll likely want to grill & dine al fresco.

The whole cottage & 40 ft heated salt water pool with private patio away from the main house. (even our own animals are not allowed in the pool or within the fenced in pool area under any circumstances so we can not accommodate guest pets within)
24 hour access the our natural market on property - complete with coffee, honey, eggs, steak, burger. Access to Clear Creek Farm estate walking tours, wine tasting by the River and petting of animals is available upon request.

This cottage is 3 minutes from Hudson’s Warren Street, uniquely and rarely, sitting on 80 acres that you will be sharing with nature and all the wildlife (our cats, deer, mini-goats) that also live here. Please drive with caution down our driveway as you may encounter a family of deer or opossums.
Know that you may wake to hearing birds in the morning or on occasion fall asleep to the sound of howls. We've also seen a blue heron (he lived near the river all last summer), bald eagle, turkey vultures, hawks, myriad other birds, foxes, turtles, frogs, and rabbits. There are also lady bugs that fly and could occasionally make their way inside the cottage if the large french doors are left cracked open. (they like to hang out near the doors and sneak in when you open them). Please try to keep doors closed when you aren't using them to minimize their (or any other insect) entry!
The adjacent horse barn on the property is cute but we do. It provide access until fully decorated. We are attempting to save this iconic structure to someday renovate it as a wedding barn, but for now, use caution if exploring the area around it.
Also, be very cautious near the river so as not to slide in nor are you permitted to cross it.
