Two bedrooms, two baths, a sunken living room with a concert grand piano, dining room, breakfast nook, dressing room, office, walk-in closets and kitchen stocked with high-quality cookware, two full-sized refrigerators, huge laundry room and pantry.
Two private bedrooms and private baths in a luxurious, mid-century modern house designed by an architect who emulated Frank Lloyd Wright -- walls of windows, huge hearth, sunken living room, sumptuous hardwoods nestled at the top of a hill overlooking Memorial Park in the wealthy community of Buckhead, yet just 8 minutes from downtown Atlanta.
Bedrooms fully furnished in antiques, Persian rugs, kitchen privileges. There is a king-sized bed in one and a queen-sized bed in the other, with two futons available.
Guests have access to their bathroom/bedroom, the living room, the kitchen, the dining room, the front and back patios, the park at the bottom of the driveway.
Interaction with Guests
Most interaction is over the phone or by e-mail, since I rarely return to Atlanta.
The house overlooks Memorial Park, which is the site of a near-constant parade of strollers and bikers. The circumference of the park is 1.7 miles and the street is a favorite among joggers.
A MARTA bus stop is a quarter-mile from the house.
Other Things to Note
Azaleas and rhododendron predominate, with several spectacular Japanese maples too.
No smoking in the house; please use coasters when placing glasses on the furniture.
Thomas' house is in one of the safest and most beautiful neighborhoods in Atlanta. It is situated on a park which many people use to walk or run. The house isn't new and could use a little TLC but it is interesting due to being architecturally designed. It is comfortably furnished and well stocked with essentials. Thomas made himself available via telephone 'round the clock.
Thomas property was great and everything was as described on airbnb. We will definitely be staying here from now on when we are in Atlanta! Thanks again Thomas for letting us stay at your property!
Tom was very responsive and easy to work with. House is in a great location for access to park and downtown.
Thomas was very pro-active about messaging. I felt like I knew the place before I got there. We didn't really face any problems. So, that, I believe, speaks for itself.
Thomas was great, responded quickly to questions, and we loved the house! Plenty of room, clean, great light, and really close to Atlanta. An awesome first airbnb experience!
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.

I moved to Atlanta in 1990 to work for CNN and have enjoyed hosting guests in my Buckhead home since 2010.
Last year, I moved to New York to take a job at the United Nations, so am now able to enjoy the house and piano only during rare visits.
I love the quiet of the neighborhood and the house, which may be why I don't have a TV in the house. Please note, though, that I would be happy to get one installed if a guest were to ask.
