The space
The Vagabond's House is a spacious, comfortable cottage style 2 bedroom bungalow apartment located on a large beach property (Three unit building-each private). Not a management company owned place but truly original and unique.

This is a family property with occupancy restricted to (2) people per unit (3 in Vagabonds House)and NO OUTSIDE GUESTS. One vehicle per unit without approval on prior to booking. Non walking babies are very welcome!

To keep the serene nature of the property as well as the comfort of other residents on the property, our rules are strictly enforced and can result in immediate termination of the reservation.

Huge Property totally fenced in with gardens& seating areas. Serene setting in a busy neighborhood. Large 1940's lovingly kept beach home with three apartments. All units are private with private entrances.

We request only guests who want a quiet get away, no parties, loud noise or music that can be heard outside of your walls.

Please carefully read rules BEFORE YOU BOOK to ensure good fit! We want only happy guests who are in agreement with our rules. Please note that only registered guests allowed on property at any time. No non registered visitors to the property.

Perfect for couples or two friends traveling. Also Flagler College parents and their student. This unit is not suitable for children, bachelorette or wedding groups.

Short walk to very quiet beach that does not allow vehicles. Three blocks to Publix Grocery, The Vilano Town Center, Beaches at Vilano and several other dining establishments and take out.

Lovingly kept by my family for over 60 years. Many guests describe the property as "magical" which is how we felt growing up here on Vilano. It's filled with comfortable furniture. We like to treat you like family, the ones we like.

The building consists of three units with a max of 2 guests each ( we will accept (3) guests in the Vagabonds House if requested).

The Vagabond is the main apartment on the 2nd floor. Located on the first floor are two one bedroom apartments, one where I reside.

The Vagabond's House is private unit with your own gate, entrance and parking. Two outdoor areas set up for relaxing, sun and dining. Both bedrooms have private baths.

The Vagabond has one (1) parking spot. A second is available if requested in advance of your stay.

Host lives on property family live in next door homes in this friendly, eclectic, social beach side neighborhood. The property has a long history in the fishing and local community. Our father was a well know and storied fisherman whose knowledge of the sea was renown and shared with many generations. My mother owned the original Vagabond’s House that was located on historic St George St in downtown St Augustine for 40 years. The garden is a work in progress over years of family gardeners.

To accommodate our many couple visitors, honeymooners, babymooners , anniversary celebrators, etc., that love the Vagabond's, our nightly rates is based on two (2) guests. Special requests may be made for groups over two guests.

Our family is happily living in our beautiful paradise since 1961! I was a long time employee of our local hospital where I was born and a lifelong native of St. Augustine growing up in the house. My parents were well know in the community and the property has been in our family since 1961 and is still often refereed to as Capt. Capo's home.

Our entire family including my adult kids, Michael, Andrew and Katie enjoy sharing our love and knowledge of St. Augustine. Michael is always working on the property and landscape and Andrew is my guests liaison who can arrive in a minute to help out with any small issues. Since our entire family grew up here and live close, we can give advice for fun and relaxation ( or adventure) in St. Augustine for any age group!

During your stay

We welcome you to the Vagabond's House. Our family has owned and lived on this property since 1962. There are two ground floor apartments, I live in one and the other is available on Airbnb. My extended family live nearby. If you see one of us and need anything or just want to say hi please do! Other than that we give guests their space.

Very large property that we lovingly care for. While the home you stay in is totally private, the grounds are shared and you may run in to me in the gardens or my daughter Katie doing laundry or my son's Mike and Andrew working on the landscape. Four generations of our family have lived and grown up in this old home.

We can direct you to the best of everything our beautiful town has to offer. From the best food, the best attractions, art galleries the best fishing and surf spots, the best places to play golf-we can assist you with it all. The area is laid back and cool and lets you live like a Vilano local. Great friendly neighborhood. Amazing grounds that delight guests especially visiting gardeners. Native plants, tropical flowering plants and succulent beds throughout the property.
