About This Listing
I have a comfortable modern room available in the Corktown neighborhood. Its a private room with a queen size bed and a shared bathroom.
This neighborhood was originally settled by Irish immigrants and is just west of downtown (center of downtown is about a mile from my place). Its a working class neighborhood that has some interesting urban charm.
I love this city and its my goal to have visitors experience and enjoy as many of its assets as possible. I'm always happy to tell you some of the interesting things going on in town. I'm close to every freeway so you can easily get around the region. I'm about a 25 minute drive from the airport. Sadly, we don't have a real good public transportation system, so be prepared for that. If possible, I would recommend bringing a bike because in many ways Detroit is an ideal biking city.
You are welcome to use the kitchen and wifi is available for your laptop. There is AC as well. I guess I should also mention that I don't smoke and I don't allow smoking in the house.
Todd was great! The house (and room) were very cozy, and he was very welcoming. The room was quite spacious, the wifi didn't give me any trouble, and there were ample towels! It's located exactly two blocks from the MotorCity Casino and was really easy to get to from other parts of Corktown. Would gladly stay with Todd again!
Room was as described and in a great location to explore Detroit which is an amazing city. We will be back!
Todd was very welcoming. A very clean and nice bedroom. Interesting neighborhood. All of the amenities including private bedroom and shared bath. At the end of my stay we shared some wine on the front porch. I learned a lot about how the City of Detroit from some one who actually worked there. Shared some of my knowledge about permaculture. All in all, a good time.
Todd was a thoughtful and gracious host. The room was well prepared and had all I needed, including some maps and pamphlets on Detroit destinations which proved very useful. He clearly had great knowledge of the city, and is in a great location, secluded yet with easy access to the city. I would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Detroit.
Todd was a wonderful host and the room was very comfortable. My husband and I loved the neighborhood. He gave us lots of great recommendations. I am now enamored with Detroit and excited to come back soon.
About the Host, Todd
Not sure what to write here. I'm an urban forester and I love living in the city of Detroit. I also love to travel and meet interesting people and experience new cultures. Airbnb has been a great experience of meeting new and interesting people without ever leaving my house! Come visit me and lets chat about the world.
