The "chambre bleu" is one of the three room we got on airbnb.
Our villa is an original place, built in 1868 for a famous french compositor Auber director of the Paris opera. it have been a casino before to be modified in 1903 as a private "art nouveau villa"
Habited since 1968 by an artist family it's a cross over of modern style architecture, contemporary art, vintage bicycles and home made marmelade.
As we always like got friends at home to share with us this lovely place, we use to got people at home, we have decided to get some of our bedrooms available to Airbnb.
We got tree rooms available don't forget to check the two other room if this one is not free for your date or if you need more than one room.
Please look at the pictures and comments.
Expect to leave in an old huge house. About comfort : bathroom, kitchen, etc...are a bit rustic or we could say authentic I let you see...
The bedroom got a good double bed and a very nice view on the sea.
The villa is in front of the sea, you have just to walk few steps to walk on the beach.
in the same time we are very close of all the shops, restaurants, and services.
If you got a car you can park it in streets around the house. We can also afford you some bicycles to ride the area.
If you come from Caen by public transportation the line bus is Twisto 61, time of transportation 45 mn.
As Dauville and Cabourg Lion sur Mer is one of the first "station balnéaire" built in the 19eme century, the seafront of Llion sur Mer / Hermanville is welknown for it's villa's build beween 1860 and 1914 (brochure itinéraire du patrimoine n°125)
Activity : you got a tennis club, few nautic clubs, some thalasso and a lot of museums and sites about the D-Day to visit in the region.
My advice is first to enjoy the beach, country side and the local specialties, seafoods, the fishes, fresh cream and for that we got some good adresss.
BREAKFAST, BICYCLES, SHEETS and TOWELS included !
Staying at Jasmins beautifull villa was a great unique experience, the best I have had with airbnb till now - and I just can recommend everyone to visit this gorgeous place!
The villa is a really special and memorable house full of history, amazing arts (mostley made by Jasmin and his family members) and a lot of exceptional stuffs. In each corner you can find something peculiar! It's just really cozy!!!
The rooms are all with a stunning sea view. And as you can see on the pictures there are nicely furnished and done up. You wake up with the sound of the sea and you go to sleep with it.
Jasmin offers a nice breakfast with really good coffee or tea and often selfmade confiture. The kitchen can be used and having lunch/dinner together can happen more than once :-)
And there I'm by one of the most important points: Jasmin is certainly on of the best hosts I have ever seen! He is very very kindly and attentive. He let you feel like home and is always anxious that you have a great time. He answers very fast to mails, give a lot of tipps and he borrows gladly his bikes. And you should make a bike ride at the beach or to the landscape! I did it right now in January and loved it. Lion-sur-mer is at all a lovely small and peaceful village with beautiful old villas and long beaches around.
Jasmin, thank you sooo much for the great time, the wonderful celebration and talks! I really felt like home and it was hard to leave! I just can't wait until I come back! And remember: Cologne is waiting for you :-)
Villa Louis is a treat, if you're looking for an offbeat, charming experience. It's set in a turn-of-the-century seaside village on the Normandy coast. The family that owns the property are all artists, and have decorated the entire villa in quirky, eclectic ways. I wouldn't consider it 'period authentic' decoration, but we both found it extremely enjoyable. The proprietor is friendly and helpful, without being intrusive, and provided us with a traditional French breakfast each morning we were there. He does speak some English, although we speak French, so we didn't test him very much. The family lives in the villa as well, along with a dog, Vipe, who is sweet, well-behaved, and quiet.
The bed in our room was extremely comfortable, and with a gorgeous view of the channel. Despite the shared living quarters, we found the villa to be extremely quiet and restive. There are three rooms available to rent, but we were the only ones there, since it was off-season. There is a single, shared bathroom. I'm not sure if that would be problematic when the villa is full, but it worked fine for us. We were easily able to find parking close to the villa each night we were there. It is probably important to mention that the "feel" of this villa is very much closer to that of staying with friends than staying at a hotel. For us, this was perfect. However, if you're looking for more of a hotel experience, this probably isn't it.
Overall, we highly recommend Villa Louis! After our stay in Normandy, we also went to Paris, and after a few days in a tiny Paris apartment, we were longing for "our room" back at the villa, which should tell you how much we enjoyed it!
Jasmin was a wonderful host!!! We will always remember our stay at "Villa Louis". It was unforgettable . Spend a few days on the ocean in a beautiful house . We relax and enjoy the magnificent nature and feel a comfort of an old house . Inside was full of fine paintings and antiques . In just a few days spent in Lion sur Mer , we were able to forget about the bustle and noise of the city. Jasmin gave us bicycles. We rode a bike along the sea. It was awesome!
Jasmin was very hospitable and friendly. Every morning he prepared for us French breakfast . Jasmin told us about the history of Normandy and France, it was very pleasing and interesting . We recommend everyone to spend time in "Villa Louis".
Time spent in this place was the best part of our trip!
Jas! Thank you so much for this amazing experience !!!)

Jasmin was very responsive in all communication. He is a very warm and generous person. He is very welcoming. It is obvious that he truly enjoys sharing the historical seaside villa. He provided lots of information of the area as well as some bicycles to cruise the seaside boardwalk. Staying at the Villa Louis was truly a memorable experience, and I can only hope I will have the opportunity to return.
Jasmin was a WONDERFUL host! We spent 3 days at Villa Louis, and had an amazing time. It's a beautiful house with many stunning artworks. Jasmin made us breakfast every morning and would join our conversations. Definitely learned a lot from him on Normandy and the French culture! Jasmin also recommended to us many great attractions in Normandy, and even took us around town! Will definitely stay with Jasmin the next time we go back to Lion-Sur-Mer! :)
