Extremely comfortable bed, pure cotton sheets, towels and dressing gown provided. Spare blankets, hot water bottle and heater in winter, fan in summer.
Birchgrove is a wonderful friendly suburb making up part of the beautiful Balmain peninsular. It has the warm feel of a village with all the benefits of a vibrant city
Located a mere 15 minute drive from the centre of city, with buses and ferries on the door step, it is a painless (and often beautiful - particularly by ferry) trip to such attractions as the Opera House, the bridge, the magnificent harbour and historic areas such as the Rocks.
Also close by is the stunning Cockatoo Island, with spectacular views, historical buildings and home to the Cockatoo Island Film Festival held in October
The Balmain area itself has plenty to keep you occupied, with a welcoming village atmosphere, a variety of interesting shops, fabulous restaurants, numerous coffee shops, beautiful harbourside parks, quirky 2nd hand markets, pubs with live music and a wonderful ambience
The room we offer is a spacious double bedroom in a characterful double-fronted weatherboard house typical of this lovely suburb.
You are welcome to help yourself to tea, coffee, cereal and toast which you can enjoy on our gorgeous covered verandah looking at the city views.
We also have a second double bedroom available at times (email me to check availability) so sometimes we can accommodate up to four people, or a family with children (age 8 and above - house not set up for young children)

Interaction with Guests
We are a friendly and easy going household, happy to socialise but also respectful of guests privacy
We do now have a dog, check out photos and read the description. He's a very gorgeous boy.
Balmain/ Birchgrove/Rozelle make up a very special neighbourhood, located only 10mins from the CBD by regular buses, but located on a peninsular its like living in a friendly village but with all the amenities of a world class city, the best of both worlds
Getting around is extremely easy, the bus stop is 2 mins walk and provides a regular bus service via the 442 and 441 to central sydney. The ferry is 8 mins walk away and the ferry takes 10 to get to Circular quay (via the Harbour bridge and Opera house)
Other Things to Note
We have a dog who is very gorgeous, his name is Doug, he's a medium size dog, half Sharpei/half mystery.
He sleeps outside and is outside when the family are out, and comes in while we are home.
He's a man of very view words so is a quiet companion. He loves people and is never happier than just hanging out.
He's obedient, doesn't beg at the table and is all round gorgeous.
He doesn't enter guest bedrooms or bathroom. He does shred a bit of hair.
All the guests that have met him so far love him, please feel free to ask questions prior to booking if you have any concerns.
This is a friendly and relaxed household, we would like you to feel at home and come and go as you please.
Breakfast cereal, bread, tea and coffee are provided in the kitchen and you are also welcome to use the cooking facilities
Smoking is allowed on the outside covered verandah but not in the house
This is Doug, he's 2 and a half (ish) and is a total souk. He's medium sized SharPei/mystery cross. He's not a barker. When I'm out he stays happily in the garden. More details on the main description page
