The hostess: Chiara was a brilliant hostess from booking right through to our departure. before we arrived, Chiara sent us plenty of local information and helped us get excited baout the trip. She kept in regular contact with us, making sure we were happy and had plenty to do. My friend and I got ourselves in a spot of bother and Chiara helped us despite the fact it was late at night. Chiara made us feel so welcome from start to finish.
The flat: The flat is small, but has literally EVERYTHING you could need for your stay. The size is perfect for a couple or pair of good friends. The bed is really comfy. The shower was good also. The best part is the balcony! We spent 3 nights sitting on it with prosecco and playing cards. I have never seen such a beautiful view!
The village: The village has a small shop, a cafe
(selling incredible gelato) and a nice restaurant. The bus takes you to bigger villages like Torno and to Como, but the bus stops very early! I would recommend a car, or get up early and explore then come home early for the evening.
Our experiences: We went to Como for the day, there seems to be good and bad parts. One area (by the ferry exit) has high end shops and restaurants and the other seems a bit more pleasant looking- have a look around and decide which you prefer. Como didn't blow us away. We liked Torno as it was really pretty and old looking. We wanted to visit Bellagio, but didn't have time this time. The best place was our balcony at Ca'Bossa! We sat there and had homecooked meals (bruschetta, spaghetti, delicious breads and cheeses), played cards, drank prosecco and just soaked in the beautiful views.
I fully recommend a visit to Ca'Bossa. It was a truly memorable, relaxing and happy trip.
Tip: If you can get a car, visit the supermarket in Torno on your way to the apartment. Stock up on food and drink for your stay as they have a good selection. Then you can save money by cooking your meals at home and enjoying them on the balcony with the best views of the lake.
Ca'Bossa is the most perfect getaway in the Lake Como region. The view from the balcony is phenomenal and the village of Molina is so quaint and quiet, yet it is only 15-20 minutes from the crazy hustle and bustle of Como.
First off - Chiara is a fantastic host. She was constantly in contact with us, before, during, and after our stay to make sure everything was good. She wasn't there to meet us when we arrived but we met her lovely father. She also made sure to drop by when she returned to the area to say hi and answer and questions that we had.
The apartment itself is just perfect for a couple or a small family like ours (one toddler). I couldn't get enough of the view and we spent our evenings watching thunderstorms roll in across the lake. There is so much information available in the apartment about the local area that you'll never be stuck wondering what to do!
Highly recommended - both Ca'Bossa and the area!
We had a very good time at the apartment. It has a stunning view from the balcony and the village is both old and vivid with a good restaurant with authentic food and local guests. The communication with Chiara was perfect. Recommendable for anyone, we will be back when we have time to travel.
Huge thanks to Chiara who couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. We were late arriving at the apartment and she waited around to show us the apartment and gave us loads of information about transport and eating out, etc.
Firstly I have to agree with previous reviews and say that the view is absolutely spectacular and words just cannot do it justice. We spent hours sitting on the balcony, drinking wine and taking in the best view of the lake we saw in our whole trip - and it was right outside our bedroom window!
The apartment itself is perfect - immaculately clean, well equipped kitchen, comfy bed with bedding and towels provided. It really felt like home while we were there.
Molina is very quiet and out of the way but we didn't have a car and had no trouble getting there. The buses aren't too frequent but seemed pretty reliable and cheap enough. We went into Como twice during our stay, once using the bus, once taking the bus to nearby Torno and getting the ferry across the lake.
The nearby restaurants are really cheap and serve very tasty food, especially the pizzeria and patisseria where there were a couple of English speaking waitresses, and those who didn't speak English were friendly and didn't laugh at our poor attempts at Italian! I'd really recommend taking a walk up through the town as the streets are really pretty and you'll be rewarded for the steep climb by stunning views.
Overall, we couldn't have asked for any more from Chiara or Ca'Bossa - 5* and highly recommended :)
Thank you Chiara for the wonderful time we spent in Ca'Bossa. A very special holiday home that includes everything you need.
It was perfect to walk into historic and sleepy Molina city centre. Very friendly people with amazing food at the pizzeria and an amazing 1kg T-bone steak at the little restaurant next to the supermarket. That place offered everything to spend a real authentic Italian holiday.
Chiara was an amazing host and the apartment was perfect! She went over and above, helping us with all our needs, including dropping us in Como when we missed our bus upon our departure of the city. Would highly recommend!
