If you stay on the coastal highway going east from San Juan, you'll soon reach Luquillo Beach. This huge plantation of majestic coconut palms shades more than a mile of fine and shimmering sand. It is one of the most popular and nicest public beaches in the San Juan area. It offers cafeterias, public bathrooms with showers, access for disabled people, and an ample parking lot. Monserrate Beach is one of the public beaches most frequented by the locals. In 2006 El Balneario de Luquillo (The Luquillo Beach) was pronounced the most popular one in Puerto Rico.
Please leave the house how you found it!! Clean and organize!

The beach house was fantastic and was perfect for our family during our week in PR. We had 7 adults and one child and they kindly provided a crib for our toddler. There's nothing quite like lounging on the covered patio enjoying the sound of the surf and the refreshing ocean breeze! We also took full advantage of the kioskos being a short walk away and had several meals there. The house itself is a little rustic, but I don't think that takes much away from the charm and beauty of the location.
My only complaint was that there was confusion when we initially arrived and the upper level of the home was locked. I contacted Nadya to inquire how we would get access and she explained that I would have to pay extra to have access to the full home, which was surprising based on the information in the listing. In the end, we worked it out and didn't end up paying any additional fees, but it was a little bit of a downer to have to that confusion upon our arrival. Regardless of that issue, we would still stay here again.
The location was impeccable, central to surrounding attractions, towns and rain forest. The beach is literally in your back yard. Absolutely beautiful to wake up to. Hosts were available when we had questions. Some minor issues with the home, one burner was not working, door lock only works with a key. Various furnishings and beds are worn and could be replaced. Beach behind the house not conducive for swimming (very rocky, but beautiful to look at). Just a short walk away, is a public beach and swimming area. Watch for seasonal ants, I think they bite. There is no TV or WIFI. I would love to come back with some of those minor improvements.
Nadia was great. She and her husband met us the day we arrived and were very helpful in the days leading up to our stay. The view is beautiful and having quick access to stick your feet in the water is pretty amazing. The beach is a bit rough, but you're very close drive to Luquillo beach which was great for the kids. Also steps from the Kiosks for food. The location was great and the outdoor space and backyard were fantastic to have with the kids (there were 3 on our trip) You're so close to everything you'd want to do on the east side of the island, and it's not even to far for some day trips to Arecibo.
The house is a bit rustic, with the upstairs bordering on camping indoors, and there are some parts of the house that need serious work. We were upstairs and every time it rained the inside of the roof would start getting wet. It never leaked, but it definitely was a concern. Also, the kitchen upstairs is not really usable, and there is an ant problem, though we spent most of our time preparing food downstairs and in the outdoor space which is awesome.
Another issue is that there are no screens on the windows, though I'm not sure that screens would help since there are plenty of other places for mosquitoes to get in.
All in all it's a great space for a bunch of people to share and relax in Puerto Rico, and I'm sure with some TLC, the place will be awesome.
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Our visit to the Beach front house was great...we arrived very late at night and were happily greeted by the sounds of crashing surf as we opened the gate. We took flashlights and walked down to the edge of the yard to enjoy the ocean close up. The house was perfect. Plenty of room for the 5 of us...there were even toys for the kids to use on the beach and in the yard. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies, appliances and condiments. The house is located in a cute modest neighborhood that made us feel safe and gave us a taste of local life away from the more touristy areas. The public beach and kiosks were a very short drive away. There was a little local Wedsday night religious service at our close neighbors complete with singing, guitars and tambourines. It was a bit loud
( Loudspeakers) but ended before the children needed to go to sleep. Watching the stars from the patio while we ate and enjoyed the sounds of the coqui frogs and the waves were our favorite pastimes. Would recommend this house to any family looking for something more authentic than a beachfront highrise!
Nadya's home was wonderful. From the moment you open the bamboo gates, you are blown away by the beautiful blue ocean view! It's totally unobstructed. The home was perfect. For what we needed, and the grill area outside was used every night along with music and the sound of the ocean waves. My husband and I went to Boardriders as suggested by Nadya our first day there which was a perfect start to our stay just a few miles' drive. I would highly recommend Nadya's home!
