A bit about me, I'm energetic but enjoy a relaxed home. I love to travel mostly to warm weather places with water and someone to bring me a beverage or two. I found my Artistic self in the world of Jewelry. I design, create and sell my work at the summer art fairs in the city and soon online. I've created a line where I donate a portion to the fight against cancer. I work daily in Corporate America as a professional in health care.
So much more I look forward to chatting when we meet.
FYI, Miles Davis is my kitty cat & this is his home also. An open doors to your room is an open invitation for him to visit. He hangs out all over the house and love the stairs. Please watch for him as he has that cat thing...."why should I move"? :-) Miles Davis sometimes likes to act like an escape artist and runs out the door when you do...simply being alert and a little foot block is all it takes. I'll show you if needed.
I hope this information helps you feel comfortable regarding my home. I would enjoy being your Host.
Guest have access to the main living area that includes the Living Room/Dining Room/Kitchen. In addition to their Bedroom & the Bathroom.
Wifi is available to all Guest!
You might be wondering...how much interaction will we have in my home. Honestly it varies...I've had Guest say it's the perfect combo of privacy and conversation.
I live a busy lifestyle. I'm often up and out. However, I also enjoy learning about my Guest. I have celebrated birthdays and gone to baseball games etc with Guest. I've also, simply provided directions and a pleasant "good morning: or "how was your day do you need help with anything"?
I LOVE my area because you feel like you are in a real neighborhood (because you are) right in downtown Chicago.
We have some great places to eat, drink and a new fabulous grocery store within 1-3 blocks. It's safe to walk for all day and night!
When you are in the South Loop you get the best of both worlds. Close enough to feel the heart beat a city but quiet enough to rest when you return!
If it looks far (from the center) on the maps...I promise it is not!
You will enjoy this area, it is one of the growing area's in Chicago!
1. I'm close enough to walk to most of the Tourist & Business destinations.
2. The CTA is literally right outside my door! The bus/train system in Chicago is great!
3. Divvy is Chicago's bike sharing station, closest station to the house is only 1 block away and I sometimes will offer my pass.
4. On-demand car/taxi service, upload the app to your smart phone.

We enjoyed our stay at Lisa's. The location was great, room was clean, and Lisa took time to give area recommendations. Thanks!
I chose Lisa's place primarily because of its proximity to McCormick place, where I was attending a convention. I could have easily walked the +/- mile, but as most of my seminars started at 7 am, I opted to call Uber to pick me up in the morning and walked back in the afternoons. Super easy.
Lisa was very warm, welcoming, and full of information about the neighborhood. My boyfriend and I went to several restaurants in the neighborhood that Lisa had recommended...Yolk for breakfast, Tapas Valencia and Kurrah's for dinner...all delicious! She also let us know about fun events going on that we may not have otherwise found out about.
Lisa was fantastic from beginning to end (she even let us store our luggage while we went out and toured around since we had a late flight), and her place is very comfortable and inviting. Miles Davis was a sweetie too. I wholeheartedly recommend this place!
I stayed at Lisa's for four nights while travelling for work. It was my first experience with an airbnb booking, and Lisa's home and hospitality has only encouraged me to use the service more frequently in the future. The room was clean, comfortable and peaceful. The place is close to downtown, but located in a cozy residential neighborhood. It offers easy access to downtown (bus or train), retail shops and grocery stores.
We stayed at Lisa for 9 nights for sightseeing in Chicago after a business trip nearby. Our host Lisa who also lives there, is a very nice and helpful to us. Lisa's house is located at a convenient place that is both quite but within 5 to 7 minutes walking distance to subway, allowing us to enjoy Chicago's convenient public transport system. In fact, the Museum campus, Millennium park are within 20 minutes (from connecting buses right next to Lisa 's house) of public transportation system. The Chicago history museum (Lincoln park) and even Oak Park are also no more than 55 minutes away.
Lisa's house has three stories and we stayed on the second floor. We stayed in the larger bedroom which is nicely decorated, clean and comfortable with enough space to hang our clothes. We enjoyed making our breakfast in her well equipped kitchen instead of having breakfast outside everyday. However, there are many nice eating places and supermarkets within 10 minutes walking distance that we also took advantage of. Her lovely cat, stylish and clean house made our stay a very pleasant experience. :-)
Lisa was a wonderful host and her home was lovely and welcoming. The bed in the room we selected was very comfortable and Lisa thought of everything we might need or want to know and already had a description. Her suggestions on local dining were also helpful. As the listing suggests - the location is great! It is a lovely and safe walk to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and a water taxi that can take you to Navy Pier. The Magnificent Mile/Millennium Park are also nearby. It is easy to get anywhere "touristy" by walking or public transportation. The street parking was a little bit of a battle on Saturday night, but other days of the week it was easy. We were out for much of our trip, but in our interactions we did pick up that Lisa is very friendly, funny, and detailed. Her cat Miles Davis is also friendly and full of hidden talents. I would definitely recommend staying with Lisa when staying in Chicago for business or pleasure.
This was our first airbnb experience, and what a great place to start! First of all, Lisa was very communicative with us about our reservation, including tips before we came. She wasn't able to be there right when we arrived, but she helped us get in anyway. When she arrived, she spent time getting to know us and going over her policies. She was very friendly and had suggestions for places to eat and visit. The neighborhood was very quiet and family-oriented--a very lovely experience. If we had questions, we only had to contact her, and she gave an answer promptly. We would gladly return to this location.
Meeting Lisa and staying at her home was great! The place is very well located in a safe and calm neighbourhood. The house was nicely decorated, clean and cosy. Lisa is very welcoming, helpful and has a great personnality, always dynamic and joyful! I enjoyed the many conversations we had. I would recommend her to anyone planning a stay in Chicago!
It was such a pleasure staying at Lisa's place. She is such a warmhearted person, who makes you feel like home from the moment you enter her home. The room was perfect and everything was very clean. The location is great! Thank you Lisa, for making my "Chicago experience" unforgettable! I enjoyed spending time with you and it was such fun at the concert where you took me!
I enjoyed staying with Lisa a lot. She is a very kind and helpful host, also knows well about the city. The room is clean and comfortable, location is convenient with good access to trains, buses and nice restaurants. Highly recommend to stay!
Lisa is a warm, fun and happy host.... we chatted a lot the day of my arrival and we even had a light dinner together at Tapas restaurant down the street from her home. The room was very clean as well as the rest of her home. She made sure i was comfortable and felt at home.
The house is well located to metro, buses, tourist activities, Downtown and McCormick Center. I will without s doubt be coming back to her home when visiting Chicago.
