  • We loved staying at Selva's. We felt very at home here. Her flat is in an older building but a convient location and well furnished. Very comfortable bed. We're hoping to stay there again!

  • Absolutely fantastic stay in a wonderful apartment. Selva's apartment is perfect for a couple and my girlfriend and I loved our stay here. The layout is great and you really feel like you are getting a true amsterdam experience. The area is nice, quite vibrant but peaceful, we woke up to birdsong every day. It is also really well connected, easy to reach from the airport and only a very short stroll to the metro, but to be honest I cannot recommend the walk enough, It is along the Amstel and beautiful canals. Leonardo (who manages the apartment) was very helpful and recommended some lovely places to visit for a true Amsterdam experience and he was spot on, it really made the trip a pleasure. Loved it, stay here!

  • I had excellent communication about check-in and check-out with Selva and her friend Leonardo (who is managing Selva's apartment).
The bed is comfortable, and there is a lot of natural light in the living room. The apartment is in a vibrant local neighbourhood and is close to great cafes, grocery stores, and Surninam and Turkish take-away. The walk to the centre is a beautiful 20-30 minute walk along the Amstel. If you want to get a real local experience then I'd highly recommend staying at Selva's apartment.

By the way, here are two of my favourite places to get coffee and sandwiches near Selva's:
Coffee Bru, which is around the corner from the apartment at Beukenplein 14-H and serves excellent coffee, tea, sandwiches and desserts.
Erik's Delicatessen which is located right beside Coffee Bru and has delicious bread, cheese, and cold cuts. They also make take-away sandwiches).

  • Selva's place is great for a couple. It is spacious and comfortable, with a big couch, TV, internet and a full equipped kitchen. There's a supermarket and Amstel train station near by. After a good and long day out in the city, you'll enjoy coming home, just chill on the couch, or take a nice bath in that big tub. it's a very nice base to come back to when traveling.

  • Great place from which to enjoy A'dam! Not in center city, but metro stop nearby makes access in and out of the main areas of the city very easy. Access to and from airport and train stations also very easy. On a nice side street. (Probably would have been quiet, but we visited over the new year holiday, when lots of firecrackers were being fired off everywhere in the city!) Grocery nearby with all that one needs. Great stay. Thanks, Selva!

  • very nice and cozy place, located in a relaxed and decent neighbourhood with one of our favorite coffee-places 'round the corner. we spent some great days in amsterdam and really enjoyed staying there. the flat is not only very close to the metro and tram-station (so you can get easily everywhere...), but as well close to the nearby oosterpark, where we had some nice walks in the sun. patricia, the lovely girl who left us the keys, was very helpful with introducing us to the city, giving us useful tips for the best places to go and made us feel home as soon as we arrived.
Thanks a lot for your hospitality!

  • Perfect for two students. You can easily sleep in the living room on the sofa.
Selva was a great host, very available and has taken time to understand our concerns with the apartment during our four months trip, even if she was far away (she travels a lot). In fact, the apartment was managed by Patricia who was very nice and helpful.
Moreover, the accommodation is close to the city center (7min with the subway) so it's ideally located in Amsterdam.
We really recommand this place !

  • My boyfriend and I were excited to spend our first Christmas together in Amsterdam (for the first time), and we both believed that Selva's flat would be the perfect little nest for just over a week. The flat looked relatively large, clean, comfortable and atmospheric on the photographs on which we based our choice. However, the photographs DID NOT resemble the state of the flat!
Firstly, on the day of our arrival, Selva's friend was supposed to wait for us to hand over the keys to the flat and to show where everything was. She did turn up (late, may I say!), but she failed to prepare the flat in advance for our arrival. Everything in the flat seemed in-organised and dirty. There was dust everywhere, and the air was stale and smelt of dogs and - later we found out - that there was dog hair all over the pillows in the living room too. So, people, allergic to dust or dog hair definitely beware of this! Further to our disappointment, there weren't bed linen on the bed and there weren't towels provided. On our request, Patrizia brought some back with her from another apartment, which, again, smelt like they were washed long time ago. So, we ended up spending our first day with shopping for cleaning materials and hoovering, dusting and generally making the flat habitable.
To make matters worse, we also found mice in the apartment, which was incredibly unhygienic, considering that there is food in the apartment. When we requested that there would be something done about it, Patrizia exclaimed that there's nothing to do about it, after all "This is Amsterdam". Surely, that cannot be the best approach in solving this issue...
The bathroom was disgusting. The shower curtains were mouldy, the floor and the wall in the shower was in an incredibly bad state. Even Patrizia felt that the bathroom really should have been refurbished long time ago, and she stated that she had made several suggestions to Selva in the past about it.
We were frank and honest about our disappointment in the state of the flat, and told about it to Patrizia immediately, later also emailed Selva, using a reasonable approach, suggesting ways to improve the flat, and if not, then reducing the price for the rent. We also suggested that the pictures should be updated to really reflect the current state of the flat. They did not reply to our email from which we understood that they do admit defeat in providing what they're claiming to provide, but unwilling to co-operate and improve.
