Very good place and very good guy!
He really helped with everything
First and foremost, yes - there are actual fireflies all around the camp at night. A gorgeous scene! I arrived by scooter up a steep gravel hill to get to Le Case Della Buca. Massimo and company (two awesome WWOOFers) greeted and invited me to have lunch with them. Afterwards, Massimo and I devised a trip around the area that I would take by scooter the next day. He was very helpful and organized my whole stay.
There are two major pieces of advice I would give to potential guests: First, have transportation. Yes, there is a busstop nearby - but there are so many sights to see (especially all around Val d'Orcia and Via Francigena) that would be difficult, if not impossible, to view by public transportation. At the least, rent a good hybrid bike for the hills. Secondly, the campground is designed for a group. There are hammocks, a firepit, swimming holes in the river... A grand setup for good times! I traveled solo and unfortunately camped solo - I couldn't take advantage of this place alone and it went underused. If you book here, do yourself a favor - get your friends together, rent a car or a couple scooters, book a full weekend, and enjoy this place as it should be enjoyed!
The environment is amazing!
We stayed in the caravan for 35€ per night. Caravan had some ants issues which Massimo tried to take care of.
We had to use the bathroom in Massimo's house which was not available when Massimo was not at home.
We would not recommend the caravan but the apartment looks really nice.
