Spacious individual villa for up to 6 people in its own garden on typical Greek isle of Evia. Crystal waters, uncrowded beach just 100metres, stunning sunsets, 5min drive to typical Tavernas, shops and ferry port. 2 hours from Athen's airport.
The Flower House on the Greek island of Evia is an individual self catering villa just 100m from the beach in the quiet hamlet of Diliso, just outside Nea Styra. Only1.5 hours from Athens. Spacious accommodation in 2 bedrooms, 2 bath/shower rooms, fitted kitchen and plenty of sitting areas inside and in the beautiful garden.
The terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch & sunset drinks amongst flowers and fruit trees, with a view of the beach and mountains beyond.
Walk two minutes down to the secluded sandy beach with safe swimming and snorkelling or relax in our garden with nothing to disturb you apart from birdsong and the scents of wild herbs.
For 10 years the house has provided a getaway to our family, friends and paying guests. We are happy to share our tips & advice on the area.
There is a welcome pack with basic seasonal local foods, and the villa is well-stocked with books, games and beach equipment. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer and cooker.
To make the most of seeing the island a car can be hired at the airport, however a car is not essential because taxis and walking can get you around if you want a slower pace of life. The town is 3/4 hr gentle walk along the beach, or five minutes away by car. In town there is free wi-fi in the many cafes, for those who need to reconnect while soaking in the sun.
For more information here is the website that I have put together with loads more info (website hidden)
Well equipped but with the added bonus of a good selection of books and games, lots of information about the area. All guests receive a comprehensive pack about the house, the welcome pack and outlining places to visit.
Interaction with Guests
We will willingly help guests with travel arrangements etc but we do not live in the house it is our 2nd home. We will give contact numbers for an English speaking couple who manage the house and know the island really well and can help with any concerns or problems.
The hamlet of Diliso straggles over a couple of hillsides and comprises individual homes. At the bottom of the hill are a string of beaches. The nearest village is Nea Styra a bustling town in July and August and a sleepy village for most of the rest of the year. Here you will find a great selection of Tavernas and 'supermarkets' (like 50 years ago)
We recommend car hire from the airport as this is convenient and economical and will allow you to see some amazing coves, ancient sites and much more.
Other Things to Note
The house has air conditioning to the upstairs living area which can be used as a heater in colder periods but we do not rent the house during the winter months as we feel it is not cosy enough.
We want you to have a great stay and will always provide you with a clean and tidy home on your arrival. We will charge a one-off cleaning fee, which includes the welcome pack and all bedlinen, bath and beach-towels of £85.
But please note that, in line with Airbnb's terms and conditions of booking: you must conduct yourself in the manner of Responsible Guests and Invitees. You will be responsible for all Covered Losses.
You are obliged to pay for damages or losses for any Covered Property caused by yourselves.
We have some additional requests:
No additional guests past the 6 people maximum
Over 18s only, unless accompanied by an adult;
Stay here and you could give this host their first review!
My husband Cliff and I first visited Evia in 2001 and found a Greece that we remembered from the 1970's! Although only a couple of hours from Athens, life on Evia is unhurried. It is easy to relax watching the ferries, sipping a coffee or ouzo. We fell in love with our hillside house set in a colourful garden although it needed some work! Within the year it was completely renovated. There is plenty of space. Downstairs is the kitchen, bathroom, dining room and sitting room area with an Apertiki for beach equipment. an exterior Apertiki houses the washing machine and garden tools. From the garden the stairs lead up to the balcony which runs round 3 sides of the house giving spectacular views of the bay and the sunset. Inside there are 2 bedrooms and another sitting room with a DVD player, and lots of books. There is also a shower/wc and a cupboard room where linens and games are kept.
Only 150m to a quiet beach (busier in July and August), a crystal clear sea with wonderful swimming and snorkelling.
The village is 5 minutes by car and can provide for all your needs with supermarkets, butchers, bakers and tavernas etc.
At home in England my daughter and I run a social company that gets children involved in growing cooking and eating. We have a fruit and vegetable garden and try to grow as much of our food needs as possible.
