Set at the top of the beautiful village of Burnsall, in the heart of Wharfedale, the cottage sits up a private lane opposite the stunning church of St Wilfrid which dates back to Saxon times. Burnsall has two pubs and a shop, and is surrounded by some of the best walking, caving, climbing and cycling in the country. The best pubs in the county are very close by.
The cottage is no frills and well lived in, but has wonderful views down the dale, a great internet facility and a log burning stove. Parking for 2 cars is easy, 3 possible. Free range eggs available from next door farm.
There are 2 bedrooms for your use, each with a double bed, and a bathroom shared between the two. Comfortable lounge, and well equipped kitchen, with table to seat 4.
Easy access to local towns by car: Grassington 8mins, Skipton 20mins, Ilkley 25mins, Harrogate 35mins, Leeds/Bradford 1hr. Located 50mins from Leeds-Brad airport. A basic bus service exists which means access only by public transport is possible with planning.
Sometimes it is possible to just to rent the spare room. See 'my other listings' on the right hand side of this page.

We had a wonderful stay in Sarah's cottage. An amazing location and spacious house. We went in cold weather, but the house warms up once the fire gets going. Burnsall is a beautiful village to be based in for walks with a great pub too. Sarah's information was really useful (including that it is best to get a train to Ilkley then you can jump on a bus straight there). We would stay again!
What a lovely cottage! Very cosy and we got the fire going to keep out the cold. It was a great base to see a bit more of the Dales. Sarah was so helpful and flexible. Would definitely recommend it.
We had a great stay at Stable Loft over Christmas 2013. Sarah was a fantastic host from afar, and she made every accommodation and recommendation to ensure we were comfortable and happy during our stay. The location was also stunning, and we loved our stay in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Thank you, Sarah!
We had a great time at stable loft, it was roomy, yet cozy and well located for walks in the Dales.
The cottage was all we wanted, expected and exactly as described. A cosy cottage in a great location to explore the River Wharfe and local area. It was easy to book, get hold of the keys and we were made to feel very welcome and at home by Sarah who greeted us. I would highly recommend staying here. Many Thanks
Had such a wonderful time in the Yorkshire Dales!
Sarah was wonderful and informative host (although, I never actually met her). She was very available through email and sent me all the information I needed from getting to the cottage to walking tours in the area.
The cottage itself is soooooo lovely. I walked around all day and spent the evenings building a fire and listening to my neighbours (the sheep) chat amongst themselves :)
Everything about the cottage is beautiful and rustic.
Do yourself a favour and come see Burnsall and the area! I can't remember ever feeling so peaceful.
We stayed at Sarah's cottage in August 2013. The cottage was lovely and exactly what we expected, full of character and charm. The village the cottage is in was beautiful and the local pub, The Red Lion was amazing and had the best food. Sarah was a delight to deal with and we would highly recommend her cottage to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
Excellent in every way. Lovely cottage and beautiful location. Great communication from start to finish. Will definitely be back
the cottage was lovely...rustic and charming. we had a relaxing stay and had everything we needed to cook our meals. there are plenty of good walks and nice pubs nearby. we only spoke to Sarah over email but all communication was prompt and helpful. will recommend to friends!
Superb cottage in spectacular and serene town of Burnsall. Lots to do and see: walks through beautiful countryside, lots of pubs in several nearby villages and good restaurants (check out the Fleece in Addington!). Un short: an excellent starting point for exploring the Dales. We highly recommend both host Sarah and her cottage. A no-brainer!!!
