Interaction with Guests
It's a pity that so many tourists only have a narrow experience of Paris limited to the official touristic guides.
I enjoy sharing with guests my full knowledge of Paris as a parisian. I'll give you tips and a geolocated list of my favorite places, restaurants, hidden views of Paris, most lovable cafés and places unknown to tourists, in the neighborhood and throughout Paris.
Even if I may not be in town, I will always answer your requests during your stay.
You are in the heart of NoMo, a bit like SoHo in NY, the North of Montmartre, the parisian's hotspot. A very safe and trendy neighborhood.
The location is at a 10 minutes walking distance from the historic Montmartre hill packed with restaurants, cafés and art galleries. It offers an intensive nightlife in all its little streets.
The flat is located in a peaceful street just a block away from a lively street which offers a lot of typical shops for an experience of an authentic parisian lifestyle : french cheese factories, wine caves, pastries, antiques...
For the breakfast to find a fresh baguette, the "boulangerie" (bakery) is just down the building.
There's also a supermarket opened 7/7 until 11pm a few steps away. (8pm on sundays)
The bus 95 just down the building will take you directly to the very center of Paris : Opéra, Louvre, Saint-Germain des Prés, etc...
The nearby subway stations of Lamarck Caulaincourt (line 12) and Guy Moquet (line 13) are also very practical and make distances easy reach.
And don't forget that the Sacré Coeur church is less than a kilometer away from the flat, a beautiful route along lovely streets, shops and cafés.
If you ask me to, I will be happy to calculate for you the best transportation path from airport or train station to home.
Regarding the parking lots, there are spots in the neighborhood though I would advise you not to bring your car in Paris due to its traffic jam.

I just ask you to respect the apartment as it was your own home and leave it the way you found it when you checked in.

Didn't get the chance to meet Avila in person but she was very helpful, organized, kind and so nice, always quick to respond to any of needs or questions. She also send an email with all the accurate information needed for the stay and a detailed map of wonderful places in Paris. The apartment is as described and even much better - very bright, clean and so charming. You can find everything what you need there. The view is absolutely fantastic, you would not believe your eyes! Going to bed, and waking up with the same impressive view of the Eiffel Tower was an amazing experience. The location is perfect and the apartment is well located in the Montmartre district.
Very strongly recommended!!! Thank you so much for everything, Avila!
Avila was a fantastic host. She was in communication throughout the booking process and even gave us heaps of recommendations. Her flat was stunning with the best view, and gorgeous little balconies that you can sit drinking champagne and admire the sparkling Eiffel Tower. Would stay again.
We had a lovely stay at Avila's apartment. Hey boyfriend, Simo met us at the local café and gave us the tour. What an amazing place! Small but perfectly formed and what a view!!! We loved coming home from exploring Paris and Montmartre and spending time on the balcony, watching the neighbourhood and the Eiffel Tower! The bed was very comfortable, the lift incredible after a heavy day exploring and the neighbourhood excellent. We had breakfast every morning from the local patisserie and loved eating along Rue Lepic - Le Petit Parisien and Au Virage were both awesome!
The area is only 10 minutes walk from Sacre-Coeur and we loved finding all of the Amelie landmarks!!
Communication with Avila was excellent and Simo was lovely. A few reviews have mentioned the size of the (email hidden) is tiny but we had fun none the less! We would definitely recommend staying here. It was perfect!
Avila's apartment was perfect for our stay in Montmartre! My husband REALLY wanted to stay in Montmartre, and my only criteria for my first trip to Paris was that it HAD to have outdoor space, and a view of the Eiffel Tower, and Avila's place perfectly fit both of our wants!
You can literally watch the Eiffel Tower glittering in the distance from both the living room and the bedroom, and it was wonderful to fall asleep to in the city of lights! There was a bakery on the corner of the street I frequented every morning (literally like 10 steps from the apt) to grab warm baguettes from, and a bar (Le Brio) that we hung out in at night when we'd come home after a dinner out!
We were in Paris in August when almost everything seemed closed - Avila tried gallantly to try to get dinner reservations for us at some restaurants I had on my wish list, but unfortunately all of the restaurants she called were closed during our trip! No worries, Paris was absolutely wonderful in August. It wasn't hot at all (low 50/60s, high 70s), and with both balcony doors open there was an amazing breeze through the whole apartment.
The tiny elevator worked our entire stay (which is great since the apt is on the top floor!), and since we had so many giant suitcases (Paris was our 2nd European stop), my husband and I devised a system where one person would wait for the cases at the bottom while the other person would send them down via the elevator. The neighbors we encountered were SO nice (although I honestly didn't understand any of the French they greeted me with beyond "Bonjour"), and a few tried speaking English to us which was nice!
Trying to shower in the tiny tub was definitely a European experience (I wanted to photograph my husband in the tiny tub but he wouldn't let me), and Avila's apartment was perfectly situated between 2 metro stops that got us into the center of Paris in no time. Her kitchen met all of our needs (we ate most of our meals out and had just baguettes, wine, and cheese at home - which was WONDERFUL on the balcony!). I hung out on the hammock when we came home after long days walking around Paris. There are no doors in the apartment (other than the bathroom door), and I cannot imagine trying to fit more than 2 people here for a stay, but it is perfect for a romantic getaway or two close friends. I really loved the way the balconies were extended living spaces for the living room and the bedroom.
Seriously a wonderful place to stay - I miss it already! Avila was a gracious host, and I can't wait to go back and stay at her wonderful apartment in the sky again.
Avila's apartment was lovely, very bright and with a great view! Everything you need for a short stay in Paris, bed was comfortable and bathroom amenities were fine, if not a little cramped. Well located between two metro stops and close to a supermarket and several restaurants. Yes, the apartment is on the 8th floor, but there is an elevator - however, for the length of our short stay, we found it didn't work late at night. However, we probably could have used the exercise after all the rich French food, so no worries! Great stay, thanks Avila!
Thank you Tracy for your comment. I'm sorry if the elevator didn't work at those moments. That's totally unique and you were very unlucky as my experience and the other guests's experience is that it never happened before.
For the future guests, I want to reassure you that the elevator is working well now including very late at night. And if ever that would happen please contact me directly and I would make someone repair it within an hour as the elevator contract maintenance stipulates it.
Kind regards Tracy :)
We loved staying at Avila's apartment. She was an exceptional host - she was there to welcome us and show up around and she helped us figure out our public transportation route to and from the airport. Additionally she sent me a very detailed map of her favorite places in Paris - it was so helpful!
The apartment itself is located in a very convenient and beautiful location - very near the metro and an easy to walk to Pigalle and other parts of the city. There is a washing machine and since we stayed for a little over a week it was great to be able to do laundry. The apartment is very clean and has beautiful views from its 2 balconies.
Avila's apartment is charming and perfect. Quiet like a Montmartre bird's nest, it was my all time favorite stay in Paris! Avila is a great host----quick communication and great recommendations around the city. Everything you need is in the neighborhood, close Metro access, and best of all- double terraces.
Thank you Avila, great experience.
