  • Marianne was a very attentive host..went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Nice clean home and breakfast was good. Helped us with our bags, and secure parking for the bikes. Got to meet some other guests and exchange stories of travels. Overall nice place to stay.

  • My two traveling companions and I had a lovely time staying with Marianne toward the end of our NZ roadtrip. Clean, comfortable room and bathroom, fluffy towels, tasty coffee and toast in the morning - great place! Marianne was very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with her about New Zealand and traveling. The lounge area was a little cold in the morning, but I'm used to that in southern NZ! Highly recommended.

  • House is nice and clean, close to city center.
We arrived there at Saturday and hoped to relax in Invercargil on Sunday but sibce city is totally close on Sunday (no shops, no cafe...) we decided to leave earlier to Catlins area so we stayed very short time in the house.

  • Staying at Marianne's place was a nice experience - I liked the room and enjoyed meeting Marianne very much. We had interesting talks and I did learn quite a few things I had not known about. Being able to just walk a few steps and hop on the bus to the CBD of the city was very convenient. Also I was very thankful that Marianne picked me up at the intercity bus stop, and even drove me to the airport when I was on my way out of Invercargill a couple nights later. So, thank you for everything, Marianne, and I am looking forward to meeting you again another time! :o))

Of German origin, I ended up here in New Zealand for the love of nature, hiking and going out on my bike. I love music and dance; Latin and Rock 'n Roll is best. Over the years I established a small spa business in the back of my spacious house, because I myself just love the comfort of my sauna, spa bath and massages. These are the things I would not want to live without. My favorite travel destination would be any nature reserve one can hike or bike through, smelling and sensing the character of the particular spot on the globe.
