  • Wow. Who knew we'd find heaven on earth? Way above the treetops of Santa Barbara, with ocean views and breezes, we found the peace we were seeking. A perfect retreat from the fevered pitch of our everyday lives, but still close enough to all that Santa Barbara offers (and, in our case, a 10 minute drive to the joys of Music Academy of the West). A lovely spot for early-morning yoga, followed by gorgeous days on our private terrace (and in our private hot tub). Diane and Steve are the quintessential hosts, anticipating their guests' every need. Counting the days until we can return!

  • This place is a little slice of heaven in the hills of Santa Barbara. The cottage is gorgeous with beautiful decor, tons of windows and oh. my. god. VIEWS from every one! I could stay on that patio forever. We will definitely be back!

Diane is a gracious, attentive and accommodating host. Thank you for allowing us a weekend of relaxation in your beautiful home!

  • We cannot recommend the place highly enough. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The hosts are delightful charming and so helpful. The area is wonderful and the views from the cottage are more amazing than any of the pictures.
The cottage is very comfortable and the bed is 5 star hotel quality.
our only regret was having to leave. Thank you

  • Dave and I really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, it was very relaxing and Diane and Steve are superb hosts.

I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to stay again in the future.

The cottage is clean and has everything and more than you need. Diane and Steve do a great job at making the stay very private. The jacuzzi is very nice in the evening.

    Thank you

  • We spent Memorial Day weekend at Diane & Steve's beautiful cottage. It was our first Airbnb experience, and the place did not disappoint. The gorgeous pictures absolutely held their promise. The place was truly amazing, warm, comfortable and had everything you needed including coffee and lots of hiking books, which I found useful. The bed was likely the most comfortable I've ever slept in, so the place is perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway. The hot tub is awesome at night. Diane and Steve were wonderful hosts, warm and welcoming, with lots of tips and information for our stay, but also giving you lot's of privacy and full custody of their deck and fish, which was sweet. A car is definitely needed as it's a steep 10 min drive uphill from downtown SB, but the view is priceless. Close to hiking trails and the Mission. It's a bit on the pricey side, but you definitely get what you pay for! Well worth it. We highly recommend it.

  • Diane and Steve were wonderful hosts. My favorite part about the cottage were the hot tub and the heavenly bed. It couldn’t be better. Our hosts were very friendly and attentive and called us with information about nearby events but also respected our privacy. Overall a great stay!

  • My girlfriend and I wanted a little getaway to decompress and get out of the city. A stay at Diane and Steve's cottage was the perfect solution. We first contacted them less than 24 hours before we wanted to rent their place. They got back to us right away and made accommodations. Upon arriving we were met by Steve who showed us around. The place was very clean and well taken care of. We could tell they take a lot of pride in creating a comfortable stay for their guests. The views from the porch were breath taking. The spa was soothing. So very peaceful and relaxing. We couldn't have asked for a better time. No fault of theirs, our only complaint is we wished we could have stayed longer.

  • I just wanted to thank Diane and Steve for the short day and a half we were able to spend at their cottage. They have an absolutely breathtaking view and the way everything was laid out was perfect. As someone mentioned in a previous review I was bit hesitant knowing the cottage was in such close proximity to their main home, but our privacy was completely respected, and the way the property is set up, it is does give you complete privacy, even when soaking in the hot tub. The grounds were astounding and the amount of detail that was put into the cottage and the grounds was out of a "Sunset" magazine. It was very apparent they have a background in the "hospitality" business. We hope to come back again. One tip is if you are coming up late-bring food to cook or grill. You probably won't want to leave once you get there so make sure you bring the necessary things to have a meal in. It's only about 10-15 minutes from downtown SB but their pretty windy roads, so I felt like once you're there it's hard to want to venture out...but all in all-would totally stay again and I think you would be hard-pressed to be disappointed.

  • Excellent hosts. Quick communications and they provided many food and wine recommendations. They also put me in touch with some key locals in the wine scene for a private tour. Great experience overall.
