A little cottage in the Cotswolds, with the best walking and biking on the doorstep. A garden home in a quaint village, with a pub 2 mins walk away.
15 minutes drive to Soho Farmhouse, with all other attractions and beautiful villages of the Cotswolds within striking distance.
Cosy, with everything you'd need for a week/weekend in the countryside.

The space
A one bedroom cottage, located at the back of a village garden and accessible via the driveway to the side of the main house, where you're free to park your car.

The bedroom has a super-comfy king bed, with a shower room just off it complete with Cowshed products.

There's a fully equipped modern kitchen with farmhouse dining table.

Between the dining area and bedroom there's a small cosy living area, with a smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Freesat and other apps available. The cottage also comes with a Jambox mini bluetooth speaker as well as Bose speaker set in the bedroom to connect up to your music.

The cottage is in Swalcliffe, a beautiful small village, with many period Hornton stone houses, about 5 miles west of Banbury, which has mainline trains into London Marylebone with a journey time from as little as 53 minutes. Taxis from the station to the cottage should cost around £10.

Within the village there's an historic church dating back to the 12th century, The Stags Head, a great pub serving good food (try the Greek night if you're in the village at the right time!) and local ales, and a grade I listed 14th century tithe barn (now a museum). There's also a newly opened woodland play park for kids.

Surrounded by beautiful and unspoilt rolling countryside, Swalcliffe lies on the edge of the Cotswolds AONB, with a good network of footpaths and bridleways in the area.

As well as country walks, cycling and other outdoor activities, there are so many nearby attractions - Soho Farmhouse is a 15 minute drive away, and Daylesford Organic is a further 10 for a nice lunch out and for picking up some locally sourced organic produce. The beautiful Cotswolds villages within striking distance all worth exploring include Chipping Camden, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford and Broadway, while Shakespeare's pretty home town of Stratford upon Avon, with its theatres and productions by the Royal Shakespeare Company, is also a half hour drive away. For some shopping, as well as the nearby historic market towns of Banbury and Chipping Norton, Bicester Village outlet shopping centre is a half hour drive away for some cut price designer bargains.

The cottage comes equipped with an OS map, guidebook and house manual with some tips from us on nearby pubs, restaurants etc to help you make the most out of the nearby area during your stay!

Guest access
Private access through the side driveway / shared garden.
Pets are welcome, but not in the garden.

Other things to note
The cottage is private and at the end of our garden, with separate access along the driveway to the side of the main house. You can still see the back of the house from the cottage, as the garden is about 10m long, but the cottage is private and separate.

Oh, as this is the countryside, the internet is slightly slower to what you may be used to - it maxes at about 10Mbps. Still usually fine for streaming TV / Netflix!

Phone reception is variable... Three is terrible, but the other networks are OK.

We'll be in the main house some, but not all of the time. As it's winter, we're unlikely to be sitting in the garden!
