Very close to Pisa, Lucca, Florence and to the sea with amazing panoramic views of the Tuscan hills, the place is ideal for a relaxing and memorable vacation.
The apartment Platano has a very large and bright bedroom with a large bed and a double sofabed, another room with a double sofabed and a large kitchen with a stone sink typical of the early '900, a wood stove in earthenware, with everything you need for cooking.
The apartment have some private part in the garden and other place of shared use, and there is a lot of space in the woods, olive trees, fruit trees and so on.
There are pears, plums, cherries, apricots, apples, pomegranates, nutsthat, you could pick directly from trees.
Grace me and my daughters live in this beautiful house that belonged to grandparents, we have around the house 3 acres of woods and olive trees that we grow with natural methods alone, producing an oil of excellent quality.

  • We just came back from a wonderful week at the place of Franco and Grazia in Buti. The house is located in on a little hill, the view is great and the cottage was wonderfully decorated. We were there with our 2 little boys who loved playing with the cats and kittens, and Franco and Grazia were wonderful hosts.

The place is in a great base to see Pisa, Lucca, San Giminiano, Siena and Volterra. We enjoyed it very much, thanks again, Franco and Grazia.

  • A perfect place for people who wants a "far from madding crowd" relaxing day. A great place on a hill, huge garden, very nice view. The driving road up the hill is a bit challenging but totally worth it. Franco and his wife are very helpful. The apartment itself has everything and large.
It's around 25 min drive from Lucca, 1 hour drive from Florence and 2 hours drive from Sienna.
The only thing is Wifi connection is a bit unstable from our apartment, otherwise it was perfect.

  • We stayed with 5 adults in the apartement and had a wonderful time.
Franco is very kind and helpfull, he give us a good adress to eat in the neighbourhood. We had a very nice diner ! Because the house is on a hill we had a beautiful view. Pitty the wheather was not very good, because there is a lot of place in the garden to sit outside.

  • We had a truly wonderful stay in Franco's apartment. We've never had such helpful and accommodating hosts! Franco and his family were a joy to meet and were always available to help us if we needed it. The apartment was perfectly comfortable and the grounds are stunning. We had a very relaxing time here and I'd definitely come back again.

  • We stayed with with Franco and Grazia after a family cruise out of Civitavecchia, and it was relaxing and fun to really be able to experience Italy without all of the tourism. You will definitely want to have Franco come and meet you if you are driving in - their driveway is an adventure the first time! The pictures of the flat are accurate, and will give you a taste of classic Italy country living. The grounds are beautiful, and if you like pets - and miss yours like I did - they have 2 dogs and LOTS of cats (I met 6 or 7 of them and was missing mine). Don't be surprised if when you open the curtain to look out the door in the morning, there's a little furball face looking in! Franco and Grazia are perfectly gracious hosts, responded to every question, and welcomed us into a very clean apartment in their lovely home. Also, since it was not a tourist area, we had a small taste of "real" Italy, where everyone is out on their bikes or walking during the downtime in the afternoons.

The nearby town of Vicopisano is interesting to visit, and we also visited Siena and Pisa while we were in the area.

We would definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone. One note - if you have small children, this apartment has very steep wooden stairs to the bedroom and bathroom upstairs; just something to note. But you will enjoy your stay!

  • Me, my mother, aunt and uncle stayed at Franco and Grazia's lovely Tuscan apartment. We were only able to stay for 2 nights and all decided that we would have to return again because it was so wonderful. The grounds are beautiful-featuring olive groves and a gorgeous view of the Tuscan countryside. The apartment was very charming, clean and comfortable. Franco and his family were wonderful hosts and gave us great tips about where do go and what to see. Thanks for your kindness! It's a little off the beaten path but definitely worth it and recommended.

Me, my wife Grace and my daughters Sarah and Zoe, live in the house that we renovated recently and where we welcome people into 2 independent apartments. Life here is very nice although a bit 'hard, we live in close contact with nature, cultivating olive trees and we carry all their own maintenance of the house and garden / woods. We made a choice for ecological restoration work: we heat with wood that we cut into the wood, producing hot water with solar heat and electricity with photovoltaic panels, we treat our waste with the wetlands, and we isolated with cork the roof of the house and ecological paints used for painting. We are now beginning to offer hospitality with the excitement of sharing and exchange that has always characterized our own path oriented to solidarity, happy decrease and ecology.
