The Space

Our charmingly cozy 1-bedroom / 1-bathroom Garden Apartment with its private, gated side-garden entrance is exquisitely furnished with a full kitchen, cable television, remote controlled heat and air conditioning, as well as a fireplace in the living room, wireless Internet access, clothes washer and dryer, contemporary appointments and its own secluded and intimate breakfast nook back deck.

The apartment is located in a lovely venerable home within New Orleans' historic Esplanade Ridge / Mid-City neighborhoods near the city's sprawling City Park (which includes the New Orleans Museum of Art, Botanical Gardens and the Sculpture Garden, a natural forest and arboretum (great for bird watching!) and some great fishing spots. Being not far from both the Fair Grounds & Slots (home of the Louisiana Derby) and, of course, the infamous French Quarter, convenient public transit to all areas of the 'Crescent City'area is readily available via city bus, taxicab, streetcar, and even free river ferry!

The home is situated on a lovely tree-lined street with several popular restaurants nearby. Curb-side street parking is readily available, and the apartment itself has recently undergone a Spring freshening up with a new bed and a newly acquired sleeper-sofa with a high-quality memory foam mattress. The apartment can sleep a maximum of 4 people.

  • We got there late, but got in within twenty minutes after a phone call with Mr. Prell. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed with plenty of towels, hair dryer, coffee, bagels & cream cheese, wifi, etc. We spent most of our time visiting New Orleans sights and restaurants so didn't get to enjoy the patio, but the washer and dryer were needed and very useful. We recommend this b&b whole-heartedly.

  • Richard was a fantastic host! The house was very accommodating and conveniently located. We absolutely loved our stay here and felt very safe. Richard was also incredibly helpful to us in planning our trip and giving us ideas on where to go for our stay! I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to spend some time in New Orleans.

  • The apartment was conveniently located for our needs during this visit to NOLA. Julia helped us find a good grocery store not far away. We were also able to access public transportation easily. We appreciated the privacy and conveniences of the apartment (including WiFi, Direct TV, iron & ironing board). The apartment was comfortable and provided plenty of space for the two of us plus our dog. Enjoyed walking the dog in beautiful, typical NOLA neighborhood nearby. Communication with the owners was excellent - they responded promptly to queries. The coffee, juice, bagels, and cream cheese were a nice touch.

  • This is a lovely place to stay while visiting in New Orleans. The location is perfect - within easy walking distance of several coffee shops, excellent restaurants, grocery stores, New Orleans Museum of Art and much more. Having a washer/dryer available was a real plus. And the private patio is charming. The apartment is very comfortable with a nice living room, bedroom, closet space, and a very workable kitchen. One really feels the ambience of the city when staying in this apartment.

  • We had an absolutely wonderful time at jazz fest and the apartment was everything we wanted it to be. Great location and really close to the action. There is a store across the street which had everything we needed. The apartment is immaculate and there is space for four. We were looked After so well. Easy communication and no problems getting in or our of the rental.

  • Richard's private garden apartment was perfect for our stay in New Orleans. It was reasonably well located for access to the French Quarter and optimally situated for walking to the Jazz and Heritage Festival. The apartment itself was clean, comfortable and charming. Additionally, Richard's assistant Julia was a delightful and helpful host. We would not hesitate to stay again for a return visit.

  • We had a great six day stay on Ursuline Ave. We enjoyed feeling part of the neighborhood and the fact that we could cook some of our meals. It was an easy walk to the French Qtr and the park and art museum. Thanks for making our first visit to NOLA such a good experience.
