We had a great week away from home in Bayou St John. It's perfectly situated at 15minutes to everywhere and easy access for a car. The house had everything 2 people would need, spacious bathroom and living room, quiet bedroom and many plants and little kittens to enjoy from the neighbors. Coffee pot and stack of maps and brochures were most helpful. House was clean, air conditioned and a great place to retreat when looking for a quiet place to come back to.
Oh wow! What an experience we had! New Orleans was great and our home away from home was just that. We felt very comfortable in Richards private garden apartment and the good welcome from Julia was nice. She let us in on the sights to see, the bars to visit and the best place to eat crawfish we went back for more, oh and the goodies in the fridge for breakfast was a welcoming touch. We will definitely be back again and will recommend your great place to our traveler friends. Thanks so much for hosting us and hope to keep in touch. Great place to visit we had a blast on our trip.
This charming apt. Made our stay in New Orleans a pleasure. The apt. Was exactly as described on the website. The location was excellent. It was a 5 minute drive to Bourbon st. And a 5 minute drive to city park to walk our dog. The neigjhbourhood felt safe and walkable and close to rest. And stores. Richard was great host and Julia was exuberant and had very useful information. Also breakfast fixings were present and much appreciated.
Richard's apartment worked quite well for our family with young children. Cozy, yet plenty of space to spread out, Richard and Julia were wonderful and friendly hosts.
It's a long walk, but we were able to walk to and from the French Quarter. The neighborhood is a family neighborhood and seems reasonably safe, but I wouldn't walk to the French Quarter in the evening. It's about a 1/2 block from a main road, so there's easy access.
There were several restaurants within walking distance and Julia was able to give us suggestions as well. The washer/dryer came in handy as well. Overall, a great trip.
This was a lovely apartment. Both Richard, and his assistant, Julia, were very friendly, and helpful and gave us great suggestions of places to try in the neighborhood. The apartment was lovely, quaint, and I really liked the artwork on the walls. We felt quite at home and I would recommend this space to anyone. We had a car with us, which was helpful, but we had no trouble finding parking and felt safe parking our car on the street. I would stay here again. Thank you!!
Great host and Julia, Richard's assistant, was extremely warm and helpful. The place was exactly as described and was very nice to get some OJ and english muffins in the fridge when we arrived. The area is nice, especially if you walk from the the house towards city park (very beautiful). Close to major bus and streetcar routes. Great place and would stay there again if/when I come back to NOLA.
The pictures don't do the place justice! It's a small, beautiful garden apartment that was perfect for what my friends and I wanted to do. It's well situated between the City Park, for museum lovers, and the French Quarter. We had no trouble getting places, the bus is close and the phone number for United Cab was handily left on the table for us! There were eggs, coffee, creamer, juice, and english muffins. We're so grateful to have found such a nice place for our short stay. Definitely would stay there again.
