Stay in New York City’s original waterfront resort.
We survived the Hurricane!
This was my first airbnb experience and it couldn't have been better. Nicholas was more than helpful, accommodating and a good conversation over breakfast. His place is a very reasonable distance from the ferry and our rental was fine for the duration of our stay as it sat parked for free along the road.
We would like to highly recommend this room, that was our first trip to States and also first booking via airbnb...so we were really happy with everything ;) Nicholas is very nice and very professional host. Area of the apartment and the room view is just breathtaking. 10-max15 walk to ferry ,then ferry trip to downtown Manhattan was definitely one of the best part of our trip. WONDERFUL ROOM!!! :)))
Staying at a room with a view on Staten Island was a great experience. Nickolas was very kind and accommodating, the place was a convenient 10 min walk from the Staten Island Ferry, would certainly stay there again on my next trip
Nicolas was a very welcoming host making my friend and I feel very much at home, even offering my friend some food. The flat is in a perfect location to catch the ferry to Manhattan, just a little climb away and the view is really amazing. I saw fireworks going off near the empire state building the night I stayed. I was in town for the NYC marathon and I know that staying here saved me about 3 hours of morning travel time before the marathon and thus it should be a highly prized spot for the night before the big event. The apartment is older with charm, bed is comfy and tea and coffee available in the room with the relaxing chairs to watch the ferries come in- it really is wonderful.
It was my first stay in the US: 14 full-packed days in NYC. Nicholas was an unforgettable nice and tolerant host. I espacially liked his sense of humour. As a New-York-rookie, I had to learn my lessons, and he helped my very well doing so :-)
The view out of the room and the bath is breathtaking, and the ferry-ride every day gave this special vacation-feeling.
I can imagine to get back there soon.
Nicholas is a charming, easy-going host. I felt most welcome in his home. I loved the view from my bedroom window of the water, passing boats and Manhattan. Even the bathroom, though old-school in design, has the most fabulous view. If you're a fast walker, you can get to the ferry terminal in 10 mins. And, as Nicholas is a Staten Island 'mover and shaker', you may soon find yourself enjoying more frequent ferry service thanks in no small part to his efforts to improve the service.
great place, very handy for the ferry with great views! and very reasonable... nicholas was a terrific host, organised, polite and generous.
Nicholas was a lovely host. He gave us Invaluable information on travel in NYC and the local area. We enjoyed his company very much. The view from our spacious room was spectacular. He made our trip special.
We loved staying with Nicholas!! He was such a welcoming host, it was a pleasure staying with him! We loved chatting with him and getting all the inside info on New York. Even though it was on Staten Island, it was super easy to get to Manhattan on the ferry.Taking the ferry was a nice way to start the day, and it meant that we were far enough away from all the noise to get a good night's sleep. The view from the room lived up to the picture also!! The apartment is a little bit dated, but Nicholas totally made up for it. We would definitely recommend Room With A View!
