Interaction with Guests
We give them a tour of the Guest House when they arrive to show them all the peculiarities of a 100 year old restored cabin; we show them how to access the dock and we provide local and area maps and magazines. We also offer tours of our historic house, make recommendations for dining, golf, biking, kayaking, or just sitting on the porch swinging and reading. We are almost always here to help them and provide emergency numbers for them when we are away.

Other Things to Note
We give our guests a copy of the "Guide to Historic Bluffton" and a walking tour map.
Guests are asked to respect the privacy of our neighbors and observe the Town's noise ordinances. There is no smoking inside the Guest House at any time. Due to the age of the building small things can go wrong; guests are asked to inform us immediately of any problems they find so that repairs or replacements can be effected. Please bring your own beach towels for use on the dock or at nearby beaches; house towels, cloths etc. are for personal bathing inside only. Makeup remover towelettes and paper towels are provided.
Lucy's cottage was absolutely wonderful! The area was full of live oaks and Spanish moss, covering everything with beautiful Southern charm. While the pictures are nice, they don't fully capture how gorgeous the area is around Lucy's home. The space was perfect for me, my husband, and 3 yr old daughter. Her room had a toy box and lots of books and she loved sleeping on the pull out bed. The kitchen was stocked and we cooked every day without any issues. Our daughter loved bathing in the antique claw-foot tub.
Everything was as described, only better! We could have stayed for several more days. If you have children, there is an awesome playground just down the road and also a small beach where kids can safely swim (about 1.8 miles away). Bluffton is small but full of unique shops and friendly people!
We were about 20 min or so away from the nearest Hilton Head beach. Hilton Head is gorgeous and worth a daily visit. You will need to bring change for the meters but it's worth it. We went to Driessen beach which had restrooms, outdoor showers, a covered picnic area, and a playground.
Lucy and Peter were very kind and only a text away. They will certainly make sure you have an enjoyable visit!
This is the 2nd time we have stayed in Lucy's guest house. We can not say enough positive things about it. Again - the stay was great and everything was in order as it always is.
C'était notre deuxième séjour à Bluffton, nous connaissions et la maison et la ville. Peter et Lucy sont toujours aussi acceuillants et gentils. Et nous y retournerons avec plaisir.
Danielle et Norman
Lucy and her husband Peter met us when we pulled up to the cottage. It was exactly as described and actually better in person. The cottage is so cute and charming and the location is awesome.
It was a wonderful experience. The cottage comfortable and Lucy and her husband were very welcoming. The only problem was that we wanted to stay longer because it was terrific!
We felt welcome from our arrival. Coordination was easy. The cottage was clean, quiet, and charming. The front porch, rocking chairs, and Spanish moss all around allow for true relaxation. The home is situated about 100 paces away from a private dock on the estuary (yes, we saw dolphins at sunset!), and it is a pleasant walk to historic downtown Bluffton. We cooked dinner at home one night and found everything we needed. (If you do this, I recommend shopping for fresh seafood at the Bluffton Oyster Company on Wharf St.) We found driving times to Hilton Head beaches and downtown Savannah to be 15 and 30 minutes, respectively.
