Lovely glamorous Art Deco doorman building.
Located three blocks from Cleveland Park metro station (red line), the building is off a u-shaped driveway planted with magnolia trees. Off the lobby are two elevators and there are elevators at each end of the building.
The apartment is on the fourth floor facing the woods. Light and airy, It has the original 1920's flavor with hard wood floors and arches. There is a foyer, main room, alcove, bathroom with tub. and eat-in kitchen. It is fully furnished, with Queen size bed, sheets and towels. Kitchen is equipped with dishes, pots, pans, gas stove and dishwasher. I always leave basic supply's in kitchen and bath as well as laundry card.
There is wifi-internet and cable TV. Connecticut Ave has restaurants, shops. Grocery stores,a CVS, movie theater, bakery and fun gift store.
Cleveland Park is a wonderful neighborhood near the Cathedral and Rock Creek Park. Close to Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan. A few metro stops to all the museums. There is also the L bus that stops right on the corner that take you to Dupont circle.
Cleveland Park is named after President Cleveland who chose to live in the area because it is more elevated than downtown so cooler in the balmy summer months. It is a green area with scattered parks and charming architecture, mainly Cottage and Queen Anne with the apartment buildings coming in around the 1920's.
Since I am a walker I favor the neighborhood. It has the right balance of green while still having the convenience of a city great transportation and easy walking distance to other neighborhoods.
I stayed in Pamela's apartment for 3 weeks in December, and enjoyed my time very much. The building is large and beautiful, with marble entry hall (from 1929!) and 24-hour doorman, and a small but nice gym in the basement. It's wonderfully located, in Cleveland Park, near shops, restaurants, metro stations. The apartment itself was a bit smaller than I expected, as the bedroom also doubles as the living room, but it worked fine after I moved some furniture around with Pamela's help. She is an excellent host, very attentive, and her place is very clean with plenty of linens, etc. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking (could use a microwave, however!), even for guests--you can have up to 5 people around the dining table, maybe even 6 if you squeeze a lot. If it were just a little bigger, I would definitely stay there again--and would consider it even so, because of the wonderful location.
This was a terrific rental. The apartment was comfortable, airy, and in a great location near the National Zoo. It was immaculately clean, and extremely well decorated. Pamela was very friendly, and was kind enough to supply us with a large fruit basket, TWO loaves of breakfast breads, and with some staples for the kitchen. The kitchen itself was well equipped, with a dishwasher and very nice dishes and tableware.
We really enjoyed our time in DC.
Pamela has a great apartment in a lovely neighbourhood. The apartment is clean, has lots of room and is well-equipped. You can cook yourself a meal in the kitchen, eat at the table in the cosey alcove, take a bath, relax on the chaise longue and sleep in the big, comfy bed.
Pamela left me fruit and other kinds of organic food to make a great start. She introduced me to D.C. and kept in touch with me via text messages during my stay—and after :). She is friendly and interested, making you feel welcome and comfortable.
We chose Pamela's apartment because of the great reviews from
her previous guests , and everything about the apartment exceeded our expectations .The apartment is very comfortable , beautifully decorated , and in a lovely building in a great location .
So many lovely parks and streets nearby for walks in perfect Autumn weather , it was a great time to visit D.C .
Pamela met us at the apartment to hand over keys , and tell us where to find everything .
We found her to be a very warm ,welcoming host , and prior to our arrival had given us lots of helpful information .

My parents came into town for my wedding and rather than find a hotel for the, I tried Air BNB and found Pamela. She could not have been a better host and the apartment is wonderful. It's perfectly located, with shopping, metro, and great food near. Pamela was even kind enough to see if my parents had any special request and when they arrived the fridge and pantry were stocked. My parents had their best stay in DC yet. Next time they come to town, this will be the first place I check for availibility!
Pamela is the perfect host. Greeted me with fruit and snacks since she knew I was arriving from a long distance. Clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated apartment, with all the amenities in a building with 24 hour doorman service. Close to shops, restaurants and the Zoo and the hotel where my meetings were held. Definitely worth a repeat visit.
Pamela's place is very convenient, attractive and comfortable! The kitchen is well-equipped and a basket of fruit, muffins and some basics in the fridge made it feel like home from the very moment we arrived. A comfortable bed, a perch to enjoy a book or do a little work...all you could possibly need. You are a short walk to a pharmacy, small market, bakery, metro stop...and more! Great leisurely walks are right out the door...the National Zoo and Rock Creek Park very nearby. We didn't get to meet Pamela in person, but she was in touch and offered to help in any way...we recommend this spot wholeheartedly.
Pamela was an excellent host. She was always available to answer our questions. Her home is very comfortable, the building is very secure and safe. Close to the Zoo, many nice restaurants, and the Metro. Couldn't ask for a more pleasant experience.
Pamela is a great host. She's very thoughtful. The apartment is adorable and very clean and in a great location, right near shops and the metro. I would definitely stay here again.
Pamela's apartment was clean, nicely decorated and in a pleasantly secure building just off Connecticut Ave. It is midway and in close walking distance to two Metro stations and a bus stop a short walk out the front door.
The Cleveland Park village center is a short distance north on Connecticut Ave. with a myriad of dining and service options including a post office, library, and grocery store. In the opposite direction and an equally short distance is the National Zoo.
The apartment was extremely convenient for us since our children and grandchildren live in the building across street. We have recommended it to friends and family who may visit them for extended stays. Our only regret is that there is a minimum stay of 3 days which rules out it's use for quick weekend visits.
Pamela is a delightful hostess and, acknowledging that we had an early flight in, we found coffee, milk, juice and pastries in the kitchen when we arrived. We can heartily recommend this accommodation in a beautiful tree lined section of northwest D.C.
