Lovely room with private bath, in architectural gem of a private home. Various sunny terraces with panoramic views of the beautiful City of Guanajuato. Kitchen privileges.
If you like what you see here but the calendar is full, please check out the other spaces available in this House of the Well: there is another adorable room with private bath; as well as the studio apartment!
PLEASE NOTE that to arrive here one must walk: either one walks up or one walks down, but walk one must. If you have any issues with stairs, either up or down, please seek other accommodations.
Lovely room with private bath, in architectural gem of a private home. Kitchen privileges. Various sunny terraces with panoramic views of the beautiful City of Guanajuato. The only off-limits part of the house is the music room which is my workspace.
The room has two single beds which together form a queen-size bed, so that it works for a couple, for two friends travelling together, or for a single individual.
I invite all my guests to enjoy the beautiful views from the azotea (roof terrace)! Each room comes with kitchen privileges: I ask only that you take good care of my pots and pans, my knives, and the Talavera dishes. In reality, all the public spaces in this house are here to be enjoyed: the azotea, the central patio, the little north patio with the laundry.
Really, THE ONLY OFF-LIMITS AREA is the piano room which is my own work-space.
Interaction with Guests
This is the home of a working artist. I share this space with my guests, however short or long their stay here may be. If I am here, I am as available as my work permits. And as always, if there is a concert here in this House of the Well, my guests are cordially invited!
This is a people’s and not a rich-folks’ neighbourhood, and in an Iberoamerican city, so you will hear roosters, dogs, and the occasional outburst of ranchera music; but it is all quite inoffensive. This barrio is friendly, lively, safe.
We are 8 minutes’ walk from the Jardín de la Unión and from the Juárez, Cervantes, and Principal theatres –the latter being where the Symphony performs every Friday during the university year-; as well as the Museo Iconográfico and Casa Cuatro where there are also concerts and other events.
Easy access in taxi, microbús and on foot; there is also a private (locked) access coming down from the Panorámica.
Guanajuato was not built with the automobile in mind ;=)) ... Nevertheless, should you need to bring a car, with a little advance notice my neighbour just above on the Panorámica usually has an extra parking space: cost is 150 pesos / night, 350 / month; anything in between is negotiable. Public parking lots cost 12 to 15 pesos/hour. (I do not recommend finding "free" parking in a tunnel: it may well cost you the repair of your windshield.) If you arrive in a car, you will probably park it and forget about it until you leave: this city is far easier to navigate walking, in public transit, or if necessary in a taxi.
Other Things to Note
I love this city very much – even knowing as I do that we have a lot of things to improve here, I love it very much. And I want the people who come here to visit, whether for three days or three months, to also have affection for it.

The house is fatastic, best airbnb I have ever lived. It locates on a hill, where we can overlook the city . Ana is a super nice host. She told us details of getting to her place, and gave us good suggestions about restaurants and museums.
Love the house. Will definitely come back (website hidden)
Our bus arrived close to midnight and our host sent a wonderful tour guide to pick us up and bring us to the house. Ana was up and about when we got there and greeted us warmly and showed us our room. The room was very charming and had everything we needed and so we were quite comfortable during our stay. The entire house was very unique and her plants and flowers and the view from the house were magnificent. Ana took us on a walk into town and showed us various landmarks and places we indicated we'd like to visit and gave us maps and recommended restaurants etc. We really appreciated her taking the time to spend with us as we could see she was a very busy lady. We would definitely book with her again as it was a great experience.
Great house and great view！ Ana is really kind and thoughtful and the room is nice and clean. Overall, a short but happy trip!
Merci Anna pour cette merveilleuse semaine passée en ta compagnie
Guanajuato c'est bien plus beau à cause de notre séjour chez toi
We loved our stay at House of the Well. Ana was very welcoming--took us on a walking tour of Guanajuato to get us oriented, and was always available to answer questions or offer advice about what to see and do. The house has incredible views of the city. Watching the sunset from the top porch was magical. We were very comfortable in our room, too! We would definitely return to House of the Well.
Ana was so very helpful, suggesting how to get to her place from the bus and offering the services of her friend & driver, Romiro, to pick us up. He spoke very good English so was able to answer our questions. He was available the following day to take us on a tour of Guanajuato and the nearby mines. Very knowledgable and enjoyable.
There are steps----lots of steps both to & from her home, but really doable. The views from her upper patio are spacious.
Ana was available for any questions, support or suggestions we might think up. Ana shared all of her kitchen and home [except for her music room] with us. Providing coffee in the morning was a real plus!
We found her home convent walking distance from all interesting areas of old town. All in all, a very comfortable, friendly environment.
Staying at Ana's place was as always enlightening!Every time i leave this place i feel i am a little bit more knowledgable thanks to the great culture this lady (website hidden) was fun to be a witness of an other week in Mexico! Thank you Ana
