Interaction with Guests
Our manager, HP, a long time Berliner, is based just across the street. He will meet you at the apartment, and l so if you need anything over your stay, just let him know.
The Berlin Artist Apartment is situated in a pre-war apartment building in the heart Berlin’s Friedrichshain district, east of Alexanderplatz. It is perhaps the last resort for Berlin’s famous alternative subculture. The streets culture is colourful and vibrant: Left over artist squats merge with imposing monumental Stalin-era buildings. Late-nineteenth century apartment buildings, galleries, alternative bars, clubs and cafes permeate the streets. Simon Dach Strasse is a popular spot with students, artists, young families as well as young Berliners.
The front of the apartment building has a liquor and convenience shop, a fantastic bakery, café and icecream shop. Nearby Boxhagener platz hosts the fantastic farmers market on Wednesday and Saturday, and the famous flea market on the Sunday. There are a range of supermarkets nearby.
Many more cultural, sporting and shopping options are also within walking or cycling distance. A walk away is the “East Side Gallery”, the largest remaining section of the wall, saved by artists who’ve turned it into a canvas for their work. There is also the 02 stadium, just a walk away, as well as berlin's most famous clubs.
By far the best way to experience Berlin is by bike (there is a bike rental at the front of the building) however the apartment is a walk away for all types of transport. The underground station (U-bahn – U5) and overground station (S-bahn S9. S41, S42, ) are a five minute walk from the apartment. The apartment has a direct trainline to schonefeld airport. Alexanderplatz is about five minutes by train or a 10 minute bike ride. Nearby public transport connections mean that favourites such as Berlin’s TV tower, shopping in Hackescher Markt or the Reichstag and Brandenburg gate are 15 minutes away.

Great apartment - quiet, and yet in the middle of the city. We would love to stay here again :)
The apartment was so spacious and comfortable- we found it really hard to leave! There is easily enough room for 6 people to chill out and cook. We love the neighbourhood and the convenience of being so close to the station. Tina was great at keeping us informed. Would definitely recommend- Thankyou!
We had a great stay at The Artists Apartment! The apartment is very homely and very nicely decorated. It is spacious, quiet and has everything you need to feel at home. The location is perfect, you really are in the heart of Friedrichshain with plenty of great restaurants, galleries and a great farmers/flee market on the weekend. We rented bikes from just out the front and you can get almost anywhere really easy. The checkin process was very easy too, HP was great and very contactable before our visit. We very much enjoyed our visit to Berlin.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the apartment. Correspondence was quick and thorough at all times, with detailed directions to the property supplied straightaway. The friendly apartment manager met us promptly upon arrival and recommended a great Italian restaurant! :)
The apartment itself was quiet and roomy and had everything that three mid-twenties guys needed for a comfortable stay - well-stocked kitchen, spacious beds, powerful shower and close proximity to all amenities (supermarket, restaurants and takeaways, kiosks, nightclubs...) in the atmospheric Friedrichshain district.
This place comes highly recommended and we are already thinking about returning at the same time next year!
The apartment as described and was very comformtable. It was well equipped with consumables such as toilet paper, washing up liquids etc.
The apartament is well located in relation to public transport and is very quiet.
