A beautifully converted historic schoolhouse set in stunning glen with mountain views. Spacious accommodation creatively designed over two floors featuring high ceilings, original exposed sandstone walls and wooden floors. Two charming and stylish bedrooms. Recently updated kitchen and bathroom. A modern extension has been added to the rear of the property which is sometimes used by the host. The Schoolhouse is a semi-detached property.

The space
Built in 1910 and serving as a national school from 1911 through to 1971. The Glen of Aherlow is in the centre of County Tipperarys natural beauty with several well marked woodland trails and amazing hikes into the Galtees, all within minutes of The Schoolhouse. The Schoolhouse is a semi-detached self contained dwelling.

The Old Schoolhouse is situated in the heart of the scenic and ancient Glen of Aherlow, amongst historic landscapes including the magestic Galtee mountains which have inspired a wealth of Irish stories, songs and art.
Perfect for walking and cycling enthusiasts, you will find several well marked woodland trails in the Slievenamuck hills. For the more adventurous, hiking the famous Galtee mountains and lakes is a magical experience. The Knockmealdown and Comeragh mountains are also close by.


For historical sites you are spoilt for choice. The World famous Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle, Swiss Cottage and Holycross Abbey are within easy reach. As well as those, you will find lesser known hidden gems as you explore this beautiful area.
