Other things to note

We have had construction in the property next door in 2016 resulting in some disappointing reviews. We are really glad to see this construction is up to landscaping stage, and the loud noise has stopped. This is such a beautiful cottage! I loved the comfy bed, the reading material and all the natural light that flowed in. There was interesting artwork all over the place and I felt like I found something new everyday. It was so nice to have a peaceful night of sleep and wake up by the morning late. We had everything we needed. Thanks for creating such a beautiful space and sharing it - it has given me major house decor inspo.

Our stay at Tina's place was good. We loved the location and the funky, artistic vibe she created in the studio. The A/C worked great and, much needed for January heat/ humidity. The bed was comfortable and the shower provided ample hot water. The washer was a plus, as we are on a 3.5 month journey. The walk to town and the marina are both about 15 minutes.

Tina was fantastic leading up to our holiday. Everything was provided for, and Tina went the extra mile providing a list of activities to do while in Port Douglas, which was great for someone like me who had never been there before. The accommodation was perfect for a couple and great to come back to after a day out and about. Would definitely stay again.

The Artist's Cottage was the perfect escape from our city lives. The space is bright and airy, with large windows on all sides. After a couple touring days visiting Cape Tribulation and the Great Barrier Reef, we settled into beach mode. The cottage is a few easy blocks from 4-Mile Beach, which is where we spent much of our time lounging, reading, swimming, doing morning yoga, and running. The cottage is outfitted with everything you need to sink into Port Douglas life, including Tina's top 50 things-to-do list. We only wish we had more time to make it through everything on the list. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us!

We received informative emails from Tina welcoming us to the Airbnb experience and detailing the features of the Artists Cottage. We found the cottage easily and settled in happily.

Tina was a fabulous host! She was quick and easy to communicate with and provided very pertinent and detailed information about the Cottage and activities in the surrounding community. On our arrival the cottage was open, very welcoming and clean. The Cottage was exactly as described. It actually was bigger than I had expected. The cottage is in close proximity to other homes but it felt very private. I found the neighbors and neighborhood quiet. There are 2 parking areas for cottage guests and we always found one available. Although another reviewer mentioned a building project on a neighboring lot, we did not see anyone at the building site during our 6 day stay. It looked like the major works at this site are finished. Tina has thought of everything. The Cottage is a visual smorgasbord of unique treasures. The front verandah was the perfect place to have a morning cuppa and an evening cocktail. The Cottage was the perfect place to call home for our visit to Port Douglas. I hope you open your home to us in the future.

We love airbnb - We travel the world staying in airbnb rentals, so we know what makes a great holiday rental, so you will love to stay in our abodes. I am an artist. My husband, Matthew Wild is a chef. Our son, Pablo Wild is seven and sees the world as his home. Our baby, Hugo is loving the adventures. We travel a lot, but when we are not, we live between Beautiful Port Douglas and Amazing Berlin. Come and stay in our charming homes oozing art, soul and creative vibes. Our homes are created with love, lots of hard work, and a passion of collecting and creating. We search the world for items we love. As much as possible, we recycle building materials, and upcycle furniture. Our houses aren't fussy or pretentious, but they are all about charming you, making you feel great, and celebrating the creative spirit.
