We had a wonderful time staying at the Artist's Cottage. It was the perfect location in Port Douglas, with only a short walk to the main street and four mile beach. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable, not to mention filled with character. Tina was exceptionally helpful and provided a lot of information about the area.
We had the most exquisite stay at Tina and Matt's apartment. What a stunner. We loved the quirky, artistic interior and the size of it was amazing - huge for a one bedroom. It was perfect for our toddler, too, with toys available for him to enjoy. The dual balconies meant we could have the space open to the elements and it really felt like we were soaking up the warm breezes of a spring/summer - a great defrost coming from cold Melbourne! Matt and Tina were available when I foolishly locked myself out of the house, coming to the rescue quickly! The neighbours were also friendly and welcoming.
Access to the beach was easy, as was the walk into the main part of town.
It really was such a privilege to stay, and I'd rush to book it again when we next head to Port Douglas.
This cottage exceeded my expectations. We truly loved the space and felt very much at home. The cottage was a few streets away from the main drag of town, tho this was good as it was a little get away from our get away. The cross ventilation throughout the house meant we didn't even need the aircon, tho the facility was there to use if wanted. We have 2 little toddlers with us as well and there was plenty of room for all of us. There were kids toys that entertained them for hours. We ended up cooking there every night instead of eating out. I highly recommend staying here.
Such a great place to stay! It really was a home away from home. The welcome booklet was full of very useful local information and telephone numbers, the cottage is fully equipped, and we really loved it's location walking distance to town and Four Mile Beach. The Cottage is highly recommended!! Thanks so much Tina!!
The Artist's Cottage is wonderful. Location is great - just a short walk to the beach or into town. The apartment it self is fabulous, beautifully maintained and thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need for a brilliant holiday. All in all, the perfect place to chill out.
I was working in Sydney for 3 months and needed a nice break up near the Reef, so all of my work friends recommended coming to Port Douglas for a relaxed holiday location. Thanks to Airbnb I found the perfect place to stay - Tina's Artist's Cottage! It was amazing, light, warm, and well decorated. I loved all the teal floors and walls, and the bathroom was the best I've ever seen in a home with the cluster of mirrors. The cottage was very short walk to the beach and about 15 minutes walk to the town made it a good, quiet location not bothered by resort guests that wander the rest of the town.
Tina also left us a large compendium that helped guide us on choosing places to visit and where to eat, giving us the best experience we could have in the area.
The Artist's Cottage was completely relaxing and inspiring. Its so close to the centre of town, but is a quiet retreat with everything you could want when you need it.
In other words, you can enjoy everything Port Douglas has to offer without resorting to a resort. We'll definitely be back.
