About This Listing
Welcome to the most beautiful view in Cape Town! While sitting on the deck in front of your bedroom, you overlook the famous W&A Watefront The area is not only safe but also beautiful and great for walking. Welcome to Cape Town!
I have a spacious modern apartment that overlooks the famous W&A Waterfront, the views are truly spectacular!
(If you need more space, I also offer an entire apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms right next door called: "Beautiful, Central & Spacious")
Whatever you choose I promise you that you are going to love Cape Town!!
You are walking distance from everything worth seeing and experiencing. Greenpoint is a great suburb for walking, it is close to both the W&A Waterfront, De Waterkant, Bo-Kaap and the city centre.
I also offer a FREE airport pickup (if my schedule allows which is most of the time)
The new public bus transport system, called MyCiti, passes right in front of the apartment. (You can also catch theMyCiti bus from the airport to the apartment with one change over in the city centre.)
My home is comfortable and sunny, filled with paintings and works of art. I also have aircon and WiFi.
The apartment has a lot of steps and therefore not suitable for people with disability or who find it hard to walk.
When you stay with me I want you to feel at home. I have travelled extensively myself and will be more than willing to help you make the most of your time in our beautiful city.
The bedroom is spacious with 2 single beds, a writing desk and a comfortable wingback chair to relax in. The room has a huge sliding door that opens up onto the deck that overlooks the W&A Waterfront. The views form the bedroom is really breathtaking!
I have a housekeeper called Gladys that does cleaning 3 times a week and she will also do your laundry, it is a free service I offer. (if your stay includes a Monday, Wednesday or Friday)
I live alone and guests have therefore access to all the spaces in the apartment without them feeling that they intrude, it is important to me that guests feel welcome. My house has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and it has been decorated for comfort.
I love cooking and the kitchen is therefore well stocked and well equipped, you are welcome to cook, there is a lot of space to enjoy, especially the front deck that overlooks the ocean, I have put down some real comfortable outside furniture for guests to enjoy. Many evenings we sit outside to enjoy the sunset while having a glass of wine. The weather in Cape Town is ideal for sitting outside, even in winter.
Interaction with Guests
I am an entrepeneur and a business man and therefore always busy with something in my office which is at the back of the property, luckily I work for myself and can therefore choose when I want to be free.
I like to offer guests a FREE airport pickup to make them feel welcome (I do drop offs for $28). If time allows I spend some evenings with guests chatting, due to business pressure I am not always able to do so, I live a very busy life, always on the go. I do however check in with guests on a daily basis to see if they need any help with their itinerary or any other advice they need.
Greenpoint and Sea Point is beautiful neighborhoods to live in and also very safe, it is a great area for walking, especially to the W&A Waterfront or to the Cape Quarter with all its great restaurants and pubs. The city centre is 5 minutes away and fun to explore on foot, including the Bo-Kaap with its bright colored houses or the hustle and bustle of Long street.
Because Greenpoint is on a slope there is always beautiful ocean views wherever you are.
Our public transport system is called the MyCiti bus service, there is a MyCity bus stop right in front of my house. You can take the bus into town, to the beaches and even to the airport. It is real easy and real cheap. I keep brochurs of the routes ready for you in the apartment.
Other Things to Note
When my schedule allows I can also do a private tours in and around Cape Town including winetasting in the Winelands of Stellenbosch and Franschoek area, Cape Point and the surrounding areas of Simonstown and Kalkbay, Whale watching in Hermanus and the beautiful surrounding coastal area OR any other tour that you would like me to tailor for you. Because it is a private tour in my car we will travel and adjust to your pace. I charge between a $140 and $150 per trip (max 3 people), I use my BMW to do the excursion. It is a real luxury to be driven, come and enjoy!
Please be respectful, no drugs or accesive drinking. Safety is important to me and therefore no people can be brought home unless it has been previously arranged with me. (Please no sex tourism, my home is my sanctuary!)
Because the apartment is part of a small community of people it is important to keep the noise levels down after 11pm at night, sound travels far and I need my neighbours goodwill to create a friendly environment for guests.
Ian's Centre of Beauty is a stellar B&B. It's close to the exciting Wharf district, Downtown and all amenities. It is spacious, comfortable, homey and charming. But best of all was our host: gracious, accommodating, smart, funny, helpful . . . A friend as well as a host, a fount of knowledge and ideas. Do not miss a tour of the surrounding country with him. This wonderful accommodation is recommended highly! We can't wait to go back!!!!
Highly recommended!! Ian has a fantastic place with the most beautiful view of Capetown and will help you with everything you need. Particularly his advice about where to eat is unbeatable... And he makes the best bean soup.. Being his guest was really great!
As a relative newcomer to the air bnb concept I always imagined it as an opportunity to live like home away from home in the city you wish to visit, Ian and his style and hospitality embody this sentiment, great spot (I know Cape town very well and am there often) and locality coupled with home comforts and a great way to wake up in the morning, overlooking the city makes this a must visit location
Keep up the good work
I was in Cape Town on business and Ian was the most incredible host with the most incredible place! Perfect location for my purposes, the apartment was beautifully decorated, maintained and pristinely clean (thanks to Housekeeper Gladys who also graciously did my laundry for me!) I had my evenings to myself and spent many hours on the gorgeous terrace watching the ships and fog roll into the Harbour. I even slept with the sliding doors wide open (though got chewed up by mozzies the first night... Some repellant fixed that!)
Ian was a wonderful host, very knowledgable about the area, and easily reachable and approachable! I'm just sorry I didn't get more opportunity to spend time with him!
Lovely apartment... Though a lot of stairs to climb... So not for the faint of heart. Well worth the effort though!!! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We highly recommend this appartment. Ian made us feel very welcome, and even came to pick us up at the airport at no extra cost. A very nice gesture! He also took us on a lovely day trip in the areas around Cape Town and was a great tour guide. He gave us a fair price and we felt it was money well spent. Ian is an experienced traveller and an engaging storyteller.
The aparment has a gorgeous view over the waterfront, perfect for a relaxing evening with a glass of wine. Room is clean and spacious, and has its own bathroom. Location is safe and central, as both the V & A and the historic centre is easily reached by foot.
We could definitely come back if we ever get the chance.

About the Host, Ian
I have a great sense of humor and love being with people although I am also a very private person, I love to cook and entertain people around good food and wine.
I love adventure and feel passionate about travelling, if I have only $1 left I will spend it on exploring a new destination. I have travelled extensively myself and still try to do 2 new destinations per year. I like being on airbnb because it gives me an opportunity to connect with other people that love travelling and that have been to places I still want to explore.
I studied economics at the University of Stellenbosch and love being involved in business, developing new concepts and ideas. I like the risk and reward adventure of business.
I am also a deeply spiritual person and like to explore spirituality and personal growth. I enjoy change (mostly) and I am committed to grow and development. I think the single most impotant thing in life is being conscious/present.
