About this listing
Welcome to the most beautiful view in Cape Town! From the apartment and the deck you see the V&A Waterfront & CT displayed below you in all its beauty! A great place to enjoy Cape Town from!
The apartment is comfortable and very central and overlooks the famous V&A Waterfront, the views are truly spectacular!
You are walking distance from everything worth seeing and experiencing in Cape Town. Greenpoint is also a great suburb for walking, it is close to both the V&A Waterfront, De Waterkant, Bo-Kaap and the city centre which means very good restaurants, clubs and bars.
The apartment, although it has not been renovated, has been furnished for comfort and create a relax feeling of being home. I also have a housekeeper Gladys that comes in 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) to do the laundry and to clean, which is a real luxury!
The apartment also has a lockup garage where they can park their car in safety.
When you stay with me I want you to feel at home. I have travelled extensively myself and will be more than willing to help you make the most of your time in our beautiful city. I stay in a studio at the back of the building and is therefore available when guests wants to speak to me or need advice. I try to come over at 6pm to check and see if guests need anything but I am always available if guests wants to message me on (website hidden) or Viber.
The main bedroom is spacious with 2 very comfortable single beds that are placed together to form a King size bed, it also has an on-suite bathroom. There is a leather inlaid writing desk and a comfortable wingback chair in the room. The room also has a huge sliding door that opens up onto the deck that overlooks the V&A Waterfront. The views form the bedroom is really breathtaking!
The second bedroom is smaller with a double bed, and has its bathroom right next door. It overlooks the mountain at the back and therefore cooler and quieter.
The apartment has a lot of steps and therefore not suitable for people with disability or who find it hard to walk. (The apartment also does not have television, most guests prefer to have a holiday away from media as well.)
The new public bus transport system, called MyCiti, passes right in front of the apartment. (You can also catch theMyCiti bus from the airport to the apartment with one change over in the city centre.)
Because I used the apartment as my home until recently, it is well equipped and comfortable and feels like home. (especially the kitchen)
The lounge is bright and sunny and have the best chairs and couches to relax in. The apartment has a welcoming feeling and opens up unto a huge outside deck area with the best views in Cape Town! It is great for a morning coffee or having a glass of wine at sunset.
(If you feel like spoiling yourself I also offer private tours to The Cape of Good Hope via Chapmans Peak drive, the penguins in Boulders Beach and back via Kalkbay and Muizenberg. 6 hours) AND a Wine Tasting tour to Somerset West, Stellenbosch and Franschoek for $140 per tour. South Africa has some excellent wines at very reasonable prices!)
Interaction with Guests
I am an entrepeneur and a business man and therefore always busy with something in my office which is at the back of the property, luckily I work for myself and can therefore choose when I want to be free.
I always make sure that I am available when guests arrive to help them with suggestions about Cape Town. I like to check in with guests around 6pm to see if they need help of any kind.
Greenpoint and Sea Point is beautiful neighborhoods to live in and also very safe, it is a great area for walking, especially to the W&A Waterfront or to the Cape Quarter with all its great restaurants and pubs. The city centre is 5 minutes away and fun to explore on foot, including the Bo-Kaap with its bright colored houses or the hustle and bustle of Long street.
Because Greenpoint is on a slope there is always beautiful ocean views wherever you are.
Our public transport system is called the MyCiti bus service, there is a MyCity bus stop right in front of my house. You can take the bus into town, to the beaches and even to the airport. It is real easy and real cheap. I keep brochurs of the routes ready for you in the apartment.
Other Things to Note
I also do private tours to Cape Point via Chapmans Peak Drive and back via the Penguins at Bolders, Simonstown and Kalkbay. It normally take 6 hours to do the tour but it covers a lot of ground in one day. I charge $140 per trip in my BMW 320i which can take 3 adults.
The other tour I do is a wine tasting tour; South Africa has outstanding wines! I do one winery in Somerset West called Vergelegen and then to historical Stellenbosch where I do Del Air Graf. From there we move on to Franschoek where we visit La Motte to experience their great reds. The tour is also around 6 hours and goes through the most beautiful countryside surrounded by mountains. I offer this tour also in my BMW 320i for $140 per trip of max 3 adults.
Please be respectful, no drugs or accesive drinking. Safety is important to me and therefore no people can be brought home unless it has been previously arranged with me.
Because the apartment is part of a small community of people it is important to keep the noise levels down after 11pm at night, sound travels far and I need my neighbours goodwill to create a friendly environment for guests.

Ian was the most hospitable host, his friendly and happy nature made our stay in Capetown very enjoyable! He was happy to show us how beautiful Capetown is, including day trips to wineries & restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed his company.
The listing description was accurate. It is true that the view from Ian's place is amazing, at night and during the day! With good weather you can sit on the deck, day or night, and enjoy the city and view of the ocean. The beds are comfortable, and everything is clean. Ian was so nice, offered us tips and advice, and left brochures for things to do around Cape Town. Ian would also always answer any questions I had within minutes...very quick and efficient to communicate with!
War ein sehr guter Aufenhalt. Alles sehr unkompliziert und einfach. Ian war sehr nett...wir hatten voll interessante Gespräche. Die Wohnung hat eine super Aussicht.
Ian's Centre of Beauty is a stellar B&B. It's close to the exciting Wharf district, Downtown and all amenities. It is spacious, comfortable, homey and charming. But best of all was our host: gracious, accommodating, smart, funny, helpful . . . A friend as well as a host, a fount of knowledge and ideas. Do not miss a tour of the surrounding country with him. This wonderful accommodation is recommended highly! We can't wait to go back!!!!

About the Host, Ian
I have a great sense of humor and love being with people although I am also a very private person, I love to cook and entertain people around good food and wine.
I love adventure and feel passionate about travelling, if I have only $1 left I will spend it on exploring a new destination. I have travelled extensively myself and still try to do 2 new destinations per year. I like being on airbnb because it gives me an opportunity to connect with other people that love travelling and that have been to places I still want to explore.
I studied economics at the University of Stellenbosch and love being involved in business, developing new concepts and ideas. I like the risk and reward adventure of business.
I am also a deeply spiritual person and like to explore spirituality and personal growth. I enjoy change (mostly) and I am committed to grow and development. I think the single most impotant thing in life is being conscious/present.
