Playful, serene Beach Cottage.

House - Entire home/apt · Rincon, 00677, Puerto Rico

The Space

Coconut Cottage is a sweetly decorated, very loved, wooden beach cottage with a charming ocean view and breeze. The cottage is nestled high on a hill, a bit hidden in a grove of coconut palms in the Puntas section of Rincon. Although off the beaten path, it's only a two-minute walk to some of Rincon's most beautiful beaches, best surf spots and delicious restaurants. The cottage and surroundings make it easy to enjoy the laid back "old island" vibe Rincon is well known for.

The cottage has two bedrooms, each with comfortable queen size beds, overhead fans and air conditioners. The fully equipped kitchen and open living room space has a vaulted ceiling with two overhead fans. The kitchen has a coffee maker, blender, toaster and nutri-bullet for those who enjoy eating well at home. The cottage design and the trade-winds help keep the cottage a little cool and breezy.

There is a full bath, an outdoor shower and a washer and dryer. Most importantly, on the deck, there are two hammocks and a swing for relaxing in after a day at the beach.

The 2nd story wrap-around deck, with an outdoor ceiling fan, is your outdoor room with a view, breeze and privacy. So make yourself at home, inside or out! There is a small 3rd story deck ideal for star gazing, sunbathing and Winter whale watching. Often spotted off the decks are two iguanas who hang in the nearby palm groves. And don't forget, the "sweet chatter" of the coquis filling up the Caribbean night sky ..... yes, they have their own special melody!

We have prepared you a list of local recommendations: including beaches, grocery stores, restaurants, massage and yoga services. There is a selection of Puerto Rican guide books in the library to help you find your way around Rincon and the Island. The West Coast offers everything from surfing, paddle-boarding, cave diving, magnificent sunsets and quiet beaches.... little piece of heaven!

Wifi and cable television are provided. There is a full washer and dryer, outdoor clothes line and a carport. Lots of beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, and surf boards for your use.
We welcome CHILDREN OVER AGE 12.

The cottage is 30 minutes away from Aquadilla Airport (BQN) and 2.5 hours from San Juan Airport (SJU). Rincon has very limited public transit, a car rental is strongly suggested.

Jacalyn, Jim and Ed thank you and wish you sunny travels!

  • The Coconut Cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway, and we can't wait to go back! The place was fully equipped with everything that we needed, and Jacalyn was a great host. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation by the beach.

  • The Coconut Cottage is fantastic- a relaxed, beautiful, completely comfortable place to stay while in Rincon. Additionally, the location is great- extremely close to beaches and a number of good restaurants/bars (a good number within walking distance). I had a wonderful time in Rincon and at the Coconut Cottage, and recommend it very highly. Jacalyn is also a wonderful host, and provided us with very helpful directions and a packet of information on things in and around Rincon- which was especially helpful as we accidentally left our Lonely Planet at home! I don't think you could hope for a better place to stay while in Rincon.

  • The Coconut Cottage is one of the most beautiful and inspiring homes I've had the pleasure of staying in via AirBnB. From the moment I arrived I knew I had found the perfect retreat. My senses were awakened by the sound of the palm trees and wind chimes, smell of the ocean air, and beautiful decor and view that surrounded me. I've been dreaming of the Coconut Cottage since my return to Ohio and can't wait for the next opportunity to go back.

The location - More than ideal. Nestled away in a quiet hillside neighborhood yet within walking distance of beautiful beaches and tasty restaurants.

The cottage - Beautifully curated. Truly has everything you could ever want in a vacation home. Fully equipped kitchen, ample beach gear, books, cozy furniture and comfortable bedding. My personal favorite was the yoga mat (used every morning on the top deck with gorgeous views of the sunrise and ocean)

The host - Jacalyn is kind and gracious and communicative. A gem in the AirBnB community. My only regret is that I didn't have the opportunity to meet her...the soul behind such a magical place!

To sum it up: I loved every single moment of my time at the Coconut Cottage and I'm counting down the days until I can return again.....

Thank you Brittany for such kind, generous review. Your yogi heart and spirit always welcomed back here! Thank you.

  • Coconut Cottage is a very special place. Rincon's hills and beaches are beautiful. Warms waters and sunshine during the day, followed by a cool breeze at night. Our visit in February was a much needed break from the polar vortex of New York City. The cottage itself is airy and cozy, and spaciously accommodated our group of 3. As other's have noted, Jacalyn was an exceptional host-- very responsive and warm in her communications. Hope to make it back some day!

Thank you Dana! Warm welcome back anytime!

  • My wife, infant son and I had a great stay at the Coconut Cottage in early February. The cottage was everything that all other reviewers had decribed. We loved the secluded feel but the ability to be to a great beach bar or restaurant within a couple of minutes. Jacalyn was a great host and very responsive to all of our questions. The location of the cottage is perfect, as within a ten-minute drive you can be to several great beaches, restaurants, a grocery store and many other amenities. We could not have asked for more and look forward to a return visit in the future!

  • I could go on and on about how wonderful the cottage is and what a great host Jacalyn is!!! Everything you could possibly want or need is provided and Jacalyn is so sweet and helpful. We will plan our vacations around the availability at the cottage because we love it that much!

Thank you so much Vanessa and Greg! Always looking forward to your return!

  • This was the PERFECT island retreat for my husband and I on our honeymoon. The cottage was adorable and had more than we expected. Jacalyn and previous occupants left a wealth of knowledge about places to eat and have fun in Rincon. We spent our days snorkeling and sunbathing on Rincon's beautiful beaches and our evenings on the gorgeous porch hammocks that have a breathtaking view of the tropical vegetation and the ocean. It truly was paradise!

The cottage would also be great for a family gathering as it has three separate bedrooms. I strongly recommend this rental to anyone who is planning on visiting Rincon. It does not get better than this!

  • Jacalyn and Jim's cottage in Rincon is perfect, and as hosts they're perfect. We had a great time exploring the towns, the beaches and the culture of western PR using Coconut Cottage as our home base for the short time we were there. The home is literally home- you know it's not yours, but the energy of the house lends itself to total tranquility and envelops you in a familiarity such that you don't feel as if you're a guest, you feel as if you're part of the home as much as that home is part of Rincon.

Jacalyn is super responsive, genuinely interested in your needs while in PR and the home itself is maintained perfectly (Ed is hilarious and does a great job keeping the place immaculate when J&J can't be there).

All in all, Coconut Cottage will by my go-to Rincon home away from home if I'm ever lucky enough to get back to that corner of the world.

  • This cottage is really cute and well decorated. There is lots of useful information inside about local restaurants and things to do. This is a really great place for couples to go to get away. Definitely rent a car if you are coming here, and find a copy of the local map of Rincon to orient yourself.

  • The Coconut Cottage was an amazing place! The cottage had such great character. It was so nice to have place to stay that made us feel just like we were at home. Jacalyn was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. She was always available and more than willing to help with anything even when whe was at home without power during hurricane Sandy. I cant wait to return to Rincon again!
