You’ll find our studio located in a quiet tree-lined street just two minutes walk from the tube. Newly converted, it offers all you need for a short stay in London. Situated in Zone 1 you are ideally located to be able to walk to most of the major tourist sites. Also with so many tube, train, bus and bike alternatives – it couldn’t be easier to get around.
The studio is in a Victorian Terrace. A communal hall leads to the studio’s private entrance on the first floor.
The room has dark oak floorboards covered in the centre by a colourful Kelim rug to add warmth. The Orbit Double Bed is made up with Hotel linen, plenty of pillows & cushions and comfy feather duvet. For your convenience there are two wall- mounted reading lights and shelf behind for your belongings. There is plenty of open hanging space available as well as a number of drawers and opening shelving. The classic Conran velvet two-seater sofa is at the end of the bed along with a Kartel La Bohème stool that can also be used as a side table. Either relax on the couch or the bed and watch the flatscreen HD TV (Freeview channels) or listen to your own music through the Bose SoundDock. The studio also has 10MB wireless broadband – an essential for most travellers these days.
The decor has been collected by us during our many visits to South Africa.
Entrance to the bathroom is through a sliding oak door inlaid with smoked glass panelling. Fire Engine Red Metro tiles cover one wall and the shower area. In the shower you have an electric pumped shower and a dispenser stocked with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Also there is a heated towel rail with towels and bathmat. There is space for your toiletries on a shelf and around the wash basin. And lots of mirrors!
The Metro tiles are also carried through to the kitchen area but here they are black. The high gloss white fitted kitchen is equipped with a fridge, Nespresso coffee maker, microwave (with grill), toaster, kettle, two ring hob, extractor and all crockery, pots etc.
And finally there is a Juliette balcony with a view at night of the London Eye peeking through the trees.
The studio is located in the central transport zone (Zone 1) and there are so many options easily available to you:
- London Underground (Tube)
Lambeth North (Bakerloo Line) - 3 minute walk
Waterloo (Bakerloo, Waterloo & City, Northern & Jubilee Lines) - 6 minute walk
- Network Railway
Waterloo (trains to South West London and the south westerly regions of the UK) - 8 minute walk
The studio is also very well placed for buses to almost anywhere. Major bus stops at each end of the street with a total of 15 different routes!
- Barclays Bikes (also known as Boris Bikes)
There are a number of docking stations within a few minute’s walk. Closest are the ones 3 minutes away outside Morley College and Lambeth North Tube Station.
Travel to and from the airports is relatively simple and I can provide details to you depending on which airport you are arriving from.
From St Pancras (London terminus) you have the option of bus (no. 59), tube or taxi.
THE LOCAL AREA
If you study a map of London you’ll appreciate how central Waterloo is, however it’s also so peaceful. The local area is very safe and walking around is a must to truly appreciate it. Within a couple of minutes you’ll be in Lower Marsh, site of one of London’s oldest continuous street markets and always busy during weekday lunchtimes. At the end of the market stands the Old Vic theatre, one of London’s best known theatres now under the artistic direction of Kevin Spacey. Further down the road are the Young Vic rep theatre and a selection of fantastic restaurants and bars.
We are well served by local shops. There are a couple of cash machines (ATMs) within a few minute’s walk as well as Post Office, bank, supermarkets, organic grocer, coffee bars and bakeries.
Ideally located for all the major sights:
-Imperial War Museum – 4 minutes walking
-Old Vic Theatre – 5 minutes
-Young Vic Theatre - 6 minutes
-BFI London IMAX – 8 minutes
-Southbank riverside (Royal Festival Hall, National Theatre, Haywood Gallery, shops and more) – 10 minutes

TRAVELLING FOR BUSINESS
The studio can be an attractive alternative to a bland hotel room. Direct tube links to the West End, City and Canary Wharf make the commute very easy. Or both the City and West End can be reached on foot in 20-30 minutes. It’s a very picturesque walk.
HEALTH & FITNESS
For the more active guests there is a Soho Gym at Waterloo (5 minutes walk) where you can work out or join a class. Daily and weekly passes are available.
For the runners I can provide you with a number of 3, 5 and 10 kilometre routes through the parks and past central London landmarks.
If you require any further information, then please do not hesitate to contact me.
There is no smoking permited anywhere in the studio.
Please, there are no pets are permitted.
The studio has only one double bed and is suitable for a maximum of two people only.
Whilst there is a sofa it is a small two seater and definately not suitable for sleeping on.
The apartment was beautiful and exactly like the photos show. Tim met us at the door right on time and there was a bottle of wine and some necessities left in the fridge for us that made our first day there perfect. The apartment was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. Location was amazing, less than 5 minutes to the tube station and a short 5-10 min walk from the London Eye and Big Ben and Parliament buildings. Tim made our stay here easier with his binder full of great restaurant locations and maps of the area and we would definitely stay here again.
Tim's studio was a fantastic place for our three night stay in London. It was in a great location with easy access to the bus and underground. My husband and I really enjoyed staying here.
What a super studio apartment. It was spotless and charmingly decorated. Tim is so well-organized that it makes staying at the apartment a real pleasure. Its a treat to arrive and find milk, bread and jam in the fridge and a bottle of wine on the counter. I really appreciated his travel instructions since it made getting to his place a breeze. The area is very convenient to a number of tube stops, and there's a wealth of choice for buses. The apartment is located on a charming street in a quiet neighbourhood.
We loved this adorable little stylish apartment in a perfect and very quiet location, which is a good starting point for excursions. We have done a lot of walking or went by bus, with which a lot of hot spots are good to reach. Tim is very nice and everything went well. We can recommend this apartment in good conscience.
Tim was great heping us with directions from the airport and info on getting around in London. We had a fabulous time. Flat was very clean and well orgaised.
The studio was exactly as described, and Tim was a very friendly host, around but not obtrusive. Lots of thoughtful touches in the studio - the fridge was stocked with food for breakfast, there was a bottle of wine on the counter, and soap, shampoo and rinse in the shower.
For such a tiny place it's very well equipped, but it might be a bit cramped for two people unless they were out most of the time. And while the kitchenette has everything you need for casual meals, you shouldn't plan on extensive cooking.
Wonderful shower room.
Quiet neighbourhood, handy to transportation. Lots of bus lines; I got direct buses to everywhere I was going, which ranged from Islington to Dulwich. A lot of food stores nearby, including a marvelous, quirky organic market.
Only one small drawback - the wifi signal was nearly non-existent. Tim's planning on replacing the router; if you're wifi dependent, you might ask about that before booking. Other than that, it's a (very tiny) gem.

About the Host, Tim
I'm a New Zealander that came across to London when I was in my 20's never left! It's a great place to live and enjoy exploring the ever changing cityscape. I'm currently a freelance IT consultant.
I love to travel have been many places over the years for both business and pleasure. If I had to some of my favourites I'd say the Nordic countries, and South Africa (where my partner is from).
I look forward to helping to ensure that you also fall in love with London.
I'm a keen runner and if you are as well then you'll appreciate the variety of magnificent routes straight out the front door of the studio.
