We had an excellent time at Valerias house. The rooms were a lot smaller than expected. But everything was perfect and Valeria gave us a very personal and warm welcome and support!

Warm welcome and a clean house. Valéria gave us all the advices to visit the region in the short lapse of time we had. She also was very convenient about arrival time. We enjoyed our stay in Torre delle Estelle, definitely recommend it! Thanks for everything!

The villa is charming, modern and clean, ideal for a family of 4 with pre-teen children. The hosts are delightful and couldn't do more for you. For Brits while there are local restaurants and good beaches you might find yourself driving 40m - 1hr to get to the better restaur…

Response from Valeria:
Thank you very much Christian for your kind comment, I am very happy to read it as it is coming from such a nice guest! I just want to write here a little note about distances and driving, since you mentioned them, hoping it can be helpful to other readers as well -) This is the nature of Sardinia - and the beauty of it. It is a vast and diverse island, rich in history and changing literally every few hundred meters. It is also, at the same time, an island crossed by few roads (and no high ways) that connect the small towns and villages that punctuate the coast. All together it is a celebration of that wonderful "slow life" that is a peculiar trait of our culture as Sardinian and Italian, and that allows us to preserve and to welcome guests in a still unspoiled land. Unfortunately, mid-August happens to be the busiest time of the year, with over 1 million tourists arriving in that single week (an average of 200,000 per day): mostly they converge to the Southern Coast, and add on to the locals who go on holiday during that time. This flux is of course reflected for instance on the restaurants nearby Torre, which are often fully booked; and on traffic jam, particularly at peak times - so that to reach i.e. Villasimius, at 17 km from us, it may take 40 minutes or over, rather than 20 maximum as usual. At the same time, Torre delle Stelle, just like each of the coastal villages and towns in Southern Sardinia, from Villasimius to San Priamo, from Geremeas to Pula, has something beautiful and unique to offer and to enjoy. The reciprocal differences, and the unique nature and services each village has, complement each other and are a richness for the area, rather than a limit. Certainly, what is "better" and "the best" is rather subjective, when it comes to beaches and restaurants :-) From my own personal point of view, we are very lucky here in Torre delle Stelle. For those who want to relax in Torre and drive minimally, our home offers a very comfortable and unique nest - with the pool and the garden, three more than decent restaurants and pizzerias, one agriturismo, two lovely beaches, all within 1 km from us. Between 5 and 15 km, or between 10 and 20 minutes by car, there is plenty more. For instance, the restaurant "da Barbara", which is less than 5 km from us, is one of the best of the coast: it is mentioned in international guides, such as the Michelin guide, as well as being a favourite choice on Tripadvisor. Beside the traffic jam of mid-August, driving for a bit longer than 10-20 minutes is essential for those who enjoy seeing more in this big island that is a home to us. We make always clear that a car is necessary, and - as responsible hosts enamoured of Sardinia - we absolutely encourage exploring! Our position from this point of view is enviable and unbeatable. Our home is an excellent starting point to easily begin the exploration to other parts of Sardinia: if I may say so myself with pride and without false modesty, it is a very fine starting point, which cannot be found elsewhere on the coast. I hope that our shared experience can be helpful :-) Thank you very much again for your generous words and for being really a corteous and lovely guest, alla prossima!

Ciao! Born in Sardinia and raised on a steady diet of pecorino cheese, poems and curiosity, I left my island to study and live on other islands and cities of water - always to come back at some point. Such is the enchantement of this land... worry not, it will put a spell on you …
