A secluded modern, fun and stylish, lake-house retreat carefully nestled in mature pines on a 2.5 acre lot with 120 feet of easily accessible shoreline for year-round activities. The new build was designed for Airbnb families, groups, and pets. The indoors and outdoors are connected through careful positioning of many large windows, sliding doors, courtyard-like patio and rooftop deck.

The space
A busy professional couple with six kids created this unique minimalistic getaway with tailored finishing and beautiful views 50 minutes from the Twin Cites and 23 minutes from Stillwater, you will find your getaway on the west side of Squaw Lake in Wisconsin.

The exterior design is one of simple modernism with industrial materials acting like white canvases for the sun to cast ever-changing shadow play upon the home. Entering on the ground floor a visitor is greeted with sophisticated design, simple lines and décor, impeccable attention to lighting fixtures, and whimsical features to amuse. The upstairs transitions to a romantic loft capturing surrounding woodland and fabulous lake views and sunsets. The home is a personal art piece and design-lovers paradise set in a secluded space that connects the natural sights, smells and sounds of the outside environment. Come check it out and stay in our special lake house retreat.

OTHER NOTES

We have good WiFi connection throughout the house and on the patio and deck areas. The internet connection options in the rural local area of the Lake House are limited. We’ve installed a satellite internet connection with the maximum bandwidth and data usage available. Usually the connection is very good allowing video streaming on multiple devices, however at occasional times of “high internet congestion” the provider limits our bandwidth. We have blue-ray disks, books and board games!

Spring/Summer/Fall - Cedar Lake Speedway is a great evening out if you’re into that kind of thing, but take glasses and earplugs! The speedway is a little over 1.5 Miles from the lake house “as the crow flies”. Depending on weather conditions you can hear it in the distance on race nights between about 5 pm and midnight. These are usually every Saturday during the season with occasional longer weekends that include Thursday and Friday.

Where you’ll be

Somerset, Wisconsin, United States

Your Lake House Retreat is easily accessible from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, about 50 minutes drive east from downtown Minneapolis. The house is situated on the western shore of Squaw Lake, north east of Somerset, Wisconsin, in a beautiful rural area of farmland, woodland and lakes.

The house is on a 2.5 acre wooded lot down a private driveway from Squaw Lake Estates. The estates is a sleepy neighborhood of large wooded private lots with some ponds and open areas. The neighborhood is quiet, low on traffic, and only has one access road, with the Lake House situated off the end of a cul-de-sac.
