Welcome to Mountain Cove Cabins, which include our Brook Trout and Black Bear Cabin. These “true log” cabins are located in the heart of the North Georgia Mountain wine country and in the foothills of the Blue Ridge National Forest. They are definitely the perfect vacation destination for folks looking to be at the epicenter of mountain festivities – while enjoying the beauty and solitude of the Appalachian Mountains.

The space
The Black Bear Cabin is a clean, quiet and relaxing true log cabin built by my husband, Mark Nix, and his late Grandfather, Aaron Nix. We have provided everything that you might need except for food, clothes, detergent and personal hygiene items. The coffee maker is standard and the satellite channels are pretty basic. We have a Blu-ray player and some movies but most guests bring streaming devices or spend so much time exploring that they don’t watch tv.

Where you’ll be

Dahlonega, Georgia, United States

The cabins are next door to the waterfalls and swimming holes of Waters Creek, the AT access on Blood Mountain and the historic Turner’s Corners Café. Located smack-dab between Helen and Dahlonega, Cleveland and Blairsville, there are endless mountain activities to explore. There are 7 vineyards within a 10-mile radius with Frogtown and Three Sisters only 5 miles down the road.

The cabins are in the National Forest at the end of a beautiful one lane paved road that winds back into the mountains beside a creek and several waterfalls. When you see the garden and the old log cabin with a big pine knot beam on the porch you are in the right place.

Newly renovated, decorated and accommodated for welcomed guests, the cabins have a nice log queen-size bed, flat-screen TV, standard kitchen with new appliances and a remodeled bathroom. Laundry services can be provided with advanced notice. The cabin has rocking chairs that looks out over the forest with seasonal views of the mountains and a creek at the bottom of the hill.
