Hi there! You'll love staying in this beautifully furnished apartment right next to Golden Gate Park. It's a completely private unit that you enter into through a garage, that opens up into a beautiful west-facing backyard.
Where: It's just a block away from the museum concourse (De Young, California Academy of Sciences) in Golden Gate Park + walking distance from Haight Ashbury, UCSF, USF, Stowe Lake, the Clement Street restaurant corridor, and much more. The 5 Fulton bus stops half a block away and shoots downtown in about 20 minutes. The beach and Golden Gate bridge are both an easy bicycle ride away.
What: The bedroom is carpeted, the bathroom has a brand new toilet/sink/shower, and there is an additional office/sunroom space with a door that leads to a shared garden. Clean linens, towels, natural brand shampoos and soaps, and bottled water are provided for your convenience.
There is a small fridge and microwave in the space but no kitchen.

Lisa's studio was my San Francisco base for 4 weeks in Jan/Feb 2014. I had a really good experience and fully recommend staying there. Lisa is a great host and made it really easy to check in and out. She respects guests' privacy and was superb throughout my stay.
Here are the main points:
1) The photos are entirely accurate and represent the studio really well
2) The studio is clean with modern furnishings and tastefully decorated
3) There's plenty of space with a large main room, a smaller sun room and a good-size modern shower room (powerful, hot shower!)
4) It's very private (accessed via its own side door and situated at the back of the house behind the garage) and faces on to a well-maintained garden
5) The location is excellent - very quiet, neat and free from the "interesting" characters elsewhere in the city. Muni route 5 stops just a block away and takes 25 mins downtown. UberX takes 15 min downtown and costs around $12 non-surge. There is a good-size Safeway two blocks away, along with several laundromats
Nothing in life is entirely perfect, so here are one or two things you should know:
There are small dogs in the flat(s) above and you may hear them yap occasionally. Nothing serious and you will soon ignore them. The bed is very comfy and new, but the springs squeak at the tiniest movement. You may hear some footsteps from the people above, but again you will soon ignore. I never heard voices, music, parties or anything else noisy at all. It's REALLY quiet. The studio is extremely spacious, but there is no closet/hanging space. Finally, there is no kitchen. There is, however, a decent small fridge and a microwave, along with a traditional kettle. These are all minor points and I found them very easy to live with.
The studio is really, really good and I enjoyed living there. Fully recommended and 5 stars. Thanks Lisa :)
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Lisa made things very easy for me to move in and out. The unit is very private which I liked. I did not feel like I was intruding on someone's space. I had my own entrance by the garage. The internet connection was excellent which was another important point for me. Also, it's a relatively quiet unit, except for the occasional noise from people living upstairs, which is to be expected.
There were some issues, for example no closet place, or relaxing chair to sit on. But, I was aware of these when I booked the unit, because the pictures are very accurate. Also, the bed was a bit too short for me (I am six feet tall).
Overall, I would recommned the place if you are okay with the small issues.
By the way, there's a Safeway about two blocks away, which made things very convenient. Also, many laundromats in the neighborhood.
I stayed at Lisa's place for ~2 months during the summer of 2013. Overall, it was great -- very clean, very private, and very close to major bus lines that got me wherever I needed to go in a reasonable amount of time (~30 mins to where I worked via the #5).
It's a good location that's close to Golden Gate Park, but restaurants are about a 10-ish minute walk away. If you're a foodie, you may find yourself wandering to other neighborhoods for meals, but other than that, this place was great.
Lisa was very accommodating and helpful but not intrusive. Lisa’s studio was very clean, charming, and safe. The neighbors were very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend staying here. Thank you, Lisa.
Lisa 's studio was beautiful and just as pictured. She is a wonderful host and handled any issues promptly and effectively. Her roommates are wonderful and so kind and I would definitely stay there again if I return to San Francisco! Oh and it's a great location, less than a block from golden gate park.
There are a few great things about Lisa's place: it is very private; the yard was easy to access through a door in the studio; it's located in the back of the building away from street noise; and the location. It was steps away from Golden Gate Park, the de Young museum, and 2.5 blocks from Safeway. This area of Richmond district had great places to go within walking distance including shops on Clement Street, a good pet supply store on 12th and Geary (that carried my dog's food), some good Korean and Japanese restaurants on Balboa. The number 5 bus was around the corner and can take you to Civic Center.
I recommend Lisa's place to those who want complete privacy. I like situations where I can chat with and get to know to host, but it was nice to come home to peace and quiet. Also, because the space is on the garage level and it was just becoming winter, the air was a little damp and cold. (It rained almost every day I was there and outside temperature was in the 40s and 50s F.) It helped to have the heater, but being a summer baby, I had to bundle up most of the time.
Excellent location! Walk to Golden Gate Park every morning is a blessing.
We enjoyed the food in the restaurants nearby.
Very nice studio, tastefully decorated. Quiet location close to night bus route into city centre. a very enjoyable stay at a good price.
The studio is exactly how it's showed on the pictures. The studio is very comfortable and the neighbourhood is so quiet! Something 'new' that it's not on the pictures, it's that Lisa bought a microwave that it's very useful if you buy food and want to eat in the studio.
There are 2 main bus lines (31 & 5) that you can use to go downtown. And the Golden Gate Park is very close.
You can find very good restaurants either in Balboa (we recommend (email hidden).) or Geary (recommend the Turkish (email hidden)e studio is totally recommended for people that would like to have a private space just to sleep and take a shower while you spend the days visiting the awesome city of SF!
great place to stay! is exactly as described and the pictures are to be trusted -- what you see is what you get. i enjoyed my stay and the closeness to several different bus routes.
