Interaction with Guests
Casita is quite separate. We can have as much interaction as we both enjoy. We're glad to help with questions and LOTS of ideas for things to do, places to explore, restaurants etc. ( Muriel was a travel and food writer)
Our street is very traditional. We're 2 blocks from San Antonio church with LOTS of fiestas, music, fireworks etc. We're 3 blocks from the Ancha San Antonio with lots of restaurants, cafes, shops, all-night pharmacy, Saturday organic market, craft markets, vegetable and flower stand. Then just a few more blocks to the Jardin.
You can walk almost everywhere, or there are LOTS of taxis for 30 pesos (under $2.50) within the main part of San Miguel and some buses. Pretty easy!
Muriel lives on the premises (our casita was separated from her home by a small courtyard) and was very welcoming and very attentive. The house was described accurately and was in a good neighborhood near the Centro, with some nice restaurants and shopping nearby.
Due to a series of American Airlines snafus, we arrived almost ten hours AFTER our ETA. Despite it being past midnight, Gordon greeted us & got us settled quickly. The casita is located in a handy spot -- a very manageable walk to the Jardin; pharmacy, liquor store, restaurants, etc. just a five minute walk away. The Logans are pleasant hosts, knowledgeable about SMA. And their dog, Noella, is a delight. Played fetch with her every day; it's nice to be welcomed home by a wagging butt.
Lovely apartment in a nice area of SMA. Plenty of hot water, use of washing machine, and your own kitchen! Muriel and George are welcoming and informative and we truly enjoyed meeting them. Great way to experience the city!!!
The colorful casita has everything you could possibly need and more. A highlight of our stay was welcoming in the New Year while watching the fireworks from the rooftop terrace. Muriel and Gordon were very helpful and accommodating. I wish we could have stayed longer!
Muriel and Logan were wonderful in every way - kind, thoughtful, and hospitable. They're easy to talk to and extremely responsive. They're happy to share tips and their knowledge of San miguel. Muriel has thought of every detail to make casita Shelby a great place to stay. The casita is everything as shown in the pictures. It's bright, cheerful, clean, and well equipped with everything you need. It's a really pretty place, too. And to top it off is a wonderful terrace that's all yours to enjoy. It's an easy walk to the Center and restaurants. We certainly would stay there again and would highly recommend it to friends and family.
The colorful casita was amazing!
Exactly how it was described on the add, the location is very good, 15 minute walk to downtown without the noise and a very nice neighborhood.
Muriel and Gordon were amazing host and we had a wonderful time with them.

About the Host, Muriel
I've been living with husband Gordon in San Miguel de Allende, central Mexico for almost 10 years and love it. Visit U.S. only occasionally. We're semi-retired but extremely busy with community development projects and other work----and all the fiestas and cultural events that our wonderful town has to offer----and travel around Mexico----and elsewhere whenever possible.
