Joanne has been my favorite host for sometime now she always makes sure me and my brother have the best time at her listings. If it's the holidays or you just seeking leisure time Joanne's listings are the the best place in the city to do so
The space is somewhat bigger than expected. It's a nice spot, quiet, and convenient. Divvy bike station right outside, coffee shops, grocery, restaurants all in direct proximity. The place has dishware and towels, but no shampoo/body soap.
Flexible check-in and out was convenient.
Thanks Joanne, I will definitely consider this loft again on my next trip to Chicago!
Very easy experience and condo was clean. 24 hour doorman. Just give him the confirmation and he gives you the keys. That's it.
The place was very clean and a lot larger then I expected from the pictures. Eventhough we never cooked a meal it was nice to know that we had access to a fully equipped kitchen. The doormen were very very welcoming and made it feel like we were actually living there. The place felt like a hotel along with the comfort of being at home. Our flight left in the evening and the owner was very flexible with when we had to move out giving us a chance see the city a little more without having to take all our luggage with us.
Everything was perfect at JoAnne's place. The doorman was nice enough to hold our bags in the backroom so we could explore the city while waiting for the tennant before us to move out.
The place is spacious and clean with a great kitchen. It's everything that the listing promised.
The location was great with numerous supermarkets right next to the subway station you had to get off to get to the apartment. The area was nice and felt very safe.
Great place in a great location! So many restaurants and bars just right around the corner as you walk and explore Chicago!
Nice place and very easy overall experience.
We really enjoyed our stay at the loft in Cobblestone Square. Our first time to Chicago as a family and it was a nice, family friendly area. Also just a few blocks from grocery stores, restaurants and bars. Great area, close to downtown. Space was clean, building was very nice, doorman was friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would say would have made it a little nicer is a more furnished kitchen. We wanted to do the rental by owner route versus the hotel route because we enjoy making some of our own meals instead of always eating out. Didn't even have a measuring cup in the kitchen. But, I got creative and made it work. Overall, I would recommend this place. We had fun! Thanks!
We had a fantastic stay in Chicago. The apartment was perfect. Very clean and roomy and close to all the things we wanted to see in Chicago. Thank you!!
Normally I wouldn't have hesitated to give an additional one or two stars, but what I went through with this lister was beyond unprofessional and sneaky.
Aside from her dishonesty, the listers place was not in check-in condition. The dishwasher was full of dishes, there were old grounds and old coffee in the coffee maker, and the 'king sized bed' consisted of two twin beds shoved together. Upon attempting to open the closet to look for linens, the door fell forward on to my head. Watch out!
I had previously stayed at another one of the lister's properties for 8 nights at $225 per night. Although there were basic items missing upon checking in, they were tended to rather quickly.
I needed to stay an additional two nights in Chicago after the original 8 night stay so she instructed me to book, but warned that it would go quickly and to book immediately, which I did. She then informed me that the place I had been staying was already booked for those additional two nights, but she had another place available for $165 per night. Since I had already booked and accepted the $225 rate for the unavailable apartment, she told me to book the $165 per night place, which I did. She charged me $225 per night for the less expensive place and then refused to refund the difference since there was 'a convention in town and her rates fluctuated as a result', contrary to what the price on the published listing continued to indicate during those two days. I attempted to contact her at least 10 times via text, email, and phone over the next several days and she only responded when I told her I would reverse the charges on my card, that I had full documentation of her dishonest practice, and my bank would fully stand by me.
I explained the entire situation to Airbnb who thoughtfully listened, resolved the situation within a couple days, and compensated me for all the trouble the lister had caused me.
Just beware, save all your communication with this woman (email, text, voicemail, Airbnb communications, etc.) because you might need it!
