Sleeps six. Features full modern kitchen, w/d, Verizon Fios TV with HBO and other premium channels on demand, and plenty of amenities like coffee, tea, umbrellas, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, bamboo sheets, extra blankets, and fluffy comforters.

Fully renovated kitchen, immaculate bathroom and lovely bedroom, Wifi and TV with DVR service on Verizon Fios are provided. Private backyard spot for pets included. Both couches in the living room pull out into a 2nd and 3rd beds to accommodate up to six guests.

No interaction required but host lives upstairs and can assist with any issues. Guests are provided four digit key code prior to visit which unlocks deadbolt keypad lock on the front door of the apartment. Checkout is as easy as grabbing your stuff, tossing your trash and locking the door behind you.

H street NE is a lively and vibrant neighborhood in Northeast DC offering a diverse and excellent selection of restaurants and pubs including famous ramen joint Toki Underground, Granville Moores (Belgian beer, mussels and bison burgers), Impala (tacos, margaritas), the Queen Vic (classic English pub food(Host favorite!)), Smith Commons and Boundary Road (new American). H Street is also home to the Rock and Roll hotel (fantastic music venue), Atlas Theatre, and the Capital Fringe Festival.

Getting around is easy. We are only a block and a half from a Zipcar lot, half a block to major bus lines D8 (union station), D4 (McPherson square), D3 (Georgetown), two blocks to X2 (white house) and X1 (constitution avenue to foggy bottom metro station) and not to mention Washington DC is home to both Uber and Car2go, easily accessed all over our neighborhood.

Check in is 3PM and checkout is 11AM.

Pets are welcome and we have an unbelievable and impossible to find small, private outdoor spot for your pooch to take a bathroom break. We are also VERY family friendly, as we are a family ourselves. Pack'n'play as well as inflatable bathroom tub are provided.

Guest access

Access to the back patio. Private entrance.

Interaction with guests

We do live above the apartment, which is completely separate with no access between floors, but other than that we are as available or unobtrusive as you wish. Please note that we do have a five year old who is not always so light on her feet or whisper quiet in her voice. However, we work hard to be mindful of our friends downstairs, so any noise should be relatively brief in duration.

Other things to note

Checkin and Checkout is super simple. Four digit code to keypad lock gets you in and just lock the door and go when you leave. Simple!

The main couch pulls out to a bed about the size of a double. It can sleep two but it will be a little snug. The 2nd couch pulls out to about the size of a twin bed.

H street has everything you would need including grocery stores, restaurants, bars, entertainment and coming in the Summer of 2015, the Fringe Festival will only be 2 blocks away!

Great area for food and drink, easy trips to museums and whatnot. Friendly locals, a little sketchy at night, but that's most cities. Apartment is cute and space-efficient. Stained concrete floors, so bring blankets if your dogs are coming! Allen is super responsive and accommodating. Small issue with security alarm going off in the early AM, but that wasn't really controllable. Overall it was an awesome stay, great value, and we would def do it again!

Allen’s place was great! Exactly as advertised. The space was very large and was close to the street cars on H street that take you to union station. Lots of shops and restaurants on H street that we tried as well. Allen was very easy to communicate with and was very flexible with accommodating our plans. Thanks so much! We will definitely be back!

Great location, short walk to the metro station. Quiet street but lots of activity just a couple blocks over. Very pet friendly, lots of places to walk your dogs.

Allen's place is in the wonderfully diverse H-street neighborhood. The ease of public transportation from here is a great plus. The (currently free) H-street Streetcar stop is 3 blocks away and takes you to Union Station where you can get on the Metro, or use the Circulator Buses for touring. There are a variety of interesting restaurants within a few block radius and the Whole Foods market has a wonderful variety of prepared food to purchase at the end of a long day when you are so tired from touring that you can't even think about going back out for dinner.

I have lived in the DC area my entire life and in DC for over 11 years. I currently work in the IT industry for a large not-for-profit. In my spare time I read, write, herd the cat, chase the dog, play with the kids and cook with my wife.
