About this listing

The space

You have the choice in this room of having a king bed or 2 twin beds.

You can stargaze from your pillows and have magical sky views in the early morning through sleepy eyes.

The room looks south towards the Twenty Valley and the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Bruce Trail, Canada's longest and oldest continuous footpath runs along the edge of the escarpment. I am willing to drive hikers to the start of their hike so that they can hike to their car and drive back at the end of the day.

We have 2 more bedrooms that will accommodate 5 more people. The Escarpment Room and the Red Squirrel Room.

We are on the Twenty Mile Creek and there is a bike, canoe, kayak and even a dragon boat rental marina just down the road by the strawberry farm. You could paddle to Harbour Estates Winery, dock and then follow the wooden carvings, guiding you along the path to their winery!

There are different bike routes and bike maps to take you through the countryside visiting wineries and parks. And the Greater Niagara Circle Route and the Welland Canal Parkway allow you to bike away from traffic.

We are only 20 minutes away from Niagara Falls and a stunning hike in the Niagara Glen. This is where Niagara Falls fell 8,000 years ago before it continued on its path of eroding the gorge. Imagine flipping a switch that shut off the falls, and then waving a magic wand to add trees, ferns, wildflowers to the dramatic landscape. You can hike through the ancient plunge pools and see potholes and discover ant lions, tulip trees and rare ferns such as the walking fern. I own a company called Niagara Nature, Wine & Garden Tours so could guide you if you wanted a naturalist along!

Interaction with guests

This is my home so I am here to welcome my guests and to interact as much or as little as they would like me to. They just have to let me know which!

Amenities

House Rules

Pets welcome for $35.00 per night (unless things go well, then just a one time fee of $35.00), but you must contact me to arrange sleeping arrangements and details. I was an animal nurse years ago so am happy to hangout and "babysit" your friend.

No smoking in the house.

Use coasters and trays for damp and wet items such as glasses, wine bottles etc.

Don't put damp towels on the wooden chairs and furniture.

More than anything I'd like to ask my guests to tell me if they have any concerns while they are with me, so their concerns can be resolved. I am open to feedback and appreciate kindness because this is my home, not a hotel : )

Carla was the perfect host! She immediately helped us settle in and was so kind. She told us the history of her home and the surrounding area. It was exactly what we needed for the night away. She made a wonderful breakfast and we were able to watch the wildlife (squirrels, chipmunks, blue jays and cardinals) visit the tree as we were eating. I highly recommend this haven.

Thank you Alison Joy for your positive feedback, it is so appreciated (I just had to write your last name, I love your name, forgot to say!) Truly grateful for your appreciation of my place and "my" critters et al :)

Carla is a wonderful host and a wonderful person with lots of interesting stories. Bonnybank is a place to visit if you are a nature enthusiast seeking rest and relaxation. Fronting an owl sanctuary; rabbits, chipmunks and squirrels are also abundant! If the Bonnybank manor could speak, I'm certain that you'd be more than intrigued!

Carla was a wonderful host and tried to ensure we had everything we needed. She was able to give us recommendations about activities to do in the area and provided a lovely breakfast in the morning for us and her 5 other guests. We would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful stay with Carla at Bonnybank. She was an amazing and generous host, and the property is the perfect getaway from the craziness of the city. Breakfast was one of the best we have had in a long time. Highly recommend!

I wish I could actually say how my experience was, but unfortunately my husband fell very ill the night before our stay and we had to cancel. Not only was Carla understanding, but she offered us an incentive to book with her again in the future so we could have the experience. She was friendly and cooperative throughout our chats and I was truly disappointed we could not meet her personally. I will definitely be booking a room with Carla in the future.

Omg I loved staying at this B&B. Carla took care of me and all of her other guests with the kind of care and attention that makes you feel right at home. Seriously, I'm not kidding, she is a mother hen and I could not have felt more welcomed. The property is gorgeous and her B&B is cozy and clean. Oh, and it smells amazing. Reminds me fondly of my grandparents home. Her dog Cedar loves attention and is a terrible watch dog. ;) There is also some interesting history to learn about when her home was constructed and the materials used to do so. Did I mention I slept like a baby and got to listen to the beautiful hoots of owls during the night?!! I loved my experience. If you are still reading this review then God Bless you and just book already. :)

Hee, hee! You are a doll, as my great Aunt Gladys would have said. I thoroughly enjoyed your visit Marc, your photography tips and appreciated your friendly interaction with our other guests. Hope our paths cross again some day. And wish you well with your endeavours.

Carla was a warm and welcoming host. Her home is close to wineries and the Jordan Village, which had a cute downtown with a handful of restaurants. Carla prepared a delicious breakfast with fresh fruit and food from local vendors. Her dog Cedar was gentle and such a good friend to our dog. Carla was even so sweet to take care of our dog while we were away. The beautiful scenery and peacefulness were such a pleasant surprise. We would highly recommend Bonnybank B&B and staying in Jordan.
