The Hoofddorpplein neighbourhood is a relaxt neighbourhood with a good atmosphere lying in Amsterdam-South. The supermarket is just around the corner and there are several ATM's in the neighborhood.
In 10 minutes you can walk to the famous Vondelpark where you can relax, enjoy a picknick (as all the locals do immediately when the sun starts to shine, a picknick cloth is provided), run, roller blade or just walk and play with your kids at the sandbox or several playground equipments (where you can enjoy a glass of wine sitting at the border).
Just 50 meters away from a direct tram stop to the city center, museum square and central station.
Schiphol airport is about 15 min drive.

Smoking is prohibided inside, but the balcony in the back over the total lenght of the apartment, makes smoking outside also possible!
This was our second stay this year at Marieke's flat and as before, we enjoyed our stay in her lovely flat and conveniently placed neighbourhood. It really is a nice flat -- sunny, spacious, quiet, a real 'home from home'. Marieke (as usual) went that 'extra mile' for us, dropping in to deliver a new kettle and new coffee machine. The neighbourhood is everything one could want -- within walking distance of the Vondelpark, on the scenic #2 tram line to the centre(a very quick journey), near a very well stocked grocery store and a brilliant location for those who want to be near the centre but not have to put up with the hustle and bustle. My husband and I couldn't give this accommodation high enough marks!
We had a wonderful stay here. The apartment is SO cute and sweet. Absolutely a pleasure to be. The public transport is just around the corner. You can be in the hart of the city in no time. Also getting from the airport to here is really easy. It's a really nice neighbourhood as well. You'll be amongst fellow 'Amsterdammers'. Also of course really close to the Vondelpark, which was a pleasure to bike around in. A really nice experience.
We had a pleasant stay at Marieke's apartment. It is large, with all needed amenities and in a quiet and accessible neighbourhood. Communication was straightforward and fast before and during our stay. Thank you!
My parents stayed at Marieke's flat in Amsterdam (where I live) for 35 days and had a great time! The location is very convenient and the apartment is comfortable to accommodate 4 people, as described.
Communication with Marieke was very smooth since the beginning and during their stay, she was frequently checking whether everything was going well and when we had a small issue with electricity, she was ready to promptly help.
We strongly recommend renting this flat.
I recently spent a month at Mariekes flat and found the experience very enjoyable. The flat is nice and airy with balconies on the front and back, comfortable double bed and pull out futon in the lounge. Local shops and restaurants are very good and better priced than the more touristy areas in the town centre. Getting into town is very easy on a tram but i preferred to ride my bike through vondal park which was a lot more relaxing and fun and could be done in around 15 minutes.
From our very first contact, Marieke was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Her directions to reach the flat were very clear, and when we arrived she was there to greet us. Being given two sets of keys was very useful, as were the luncheon items and wine she kindly provided. The flat was even nicer than the pictures of it, as it had two sofas so we could really stretch out. The big windows made the flat cheerfully sunny, and the balcony off the bedroom/kitchen was a great place to have breakfast. It was a very quiet flat, which we appreciated. At first we wondered if it would be too far out, but not at all. The dead centre of Amsterdam is packed with tourists, so it was very nice to be able to hop on the tram and be in a quieter, residential area within a mere 15 minutes. We even adopted the corner pub as our 'local'. The supermarket was just around the corner, so very convenient. And after a busy day sightseeing, it was a joy to jump under a nice shower to shake off the dust and rev up the energy. Thank you, Marieke, for making our stay so perfect.
I stayed in Marieke's flat with my family. It was a very comfortable and nice stay. Her house is very cosy, comfortable, clean and sweet. The house is also very close to the tram station and Vondelpark. Also, she has bikes that you can use, so we need not to rent bike. She is very friendly and helpful, had prepared a user manuel for the house and left maps of Amsterdam for us. By the way, there is nespresso machine, you can drink your coffee after a tiring Amsterdam tour. Thanks for everything, it was a very nice holiday.
Hello, my name is Marieke. After living in Amsterdam for 11 years, I recently moved with husband and son to Haarlem.
Although I am not originally from Amsterdam, it is the city that really captured my heart! However, with my young son I prefered a smaller city, Haarlem: a house with garden, close to the beach, and...just 20 km away from Amsterdam!
I studied Econometrics at the University of Tilburg and work in the travel industry.
In my free time I love to sport, run through the Vondelpark, relax together with friends and bike or walk through the city.
I will be happy to answer all your questions and tell you everything about the city that makes your stay as comfortable as possible.
