The space

Private, three bedroom house, nestled in the foothills of the Berkshires on a quiet road. Seated on a shady two acres with a sculpted duck pond and fenced in yard this is the perfect Berkshires retreat for families or couples looking for a relaxing weekend in the county.

Whether you're inclined to recline or romp around the Taghkanic or Berkshire hills - skiing, cycling, golf, fishing, hiking are at your fingertips. The Berkshires and Taghkanics offer all season outdoor activities. Even your furry friend can enjoy worry free, off-leash play in the huge fenced in yard - just watch out for the rabbits ;).

At night fire up the BBQ on the wraparound deck or head out and and enjoy the fine dining in Great Barrington, MA or Hudson, NY just minutes away. Tanglewood is only 35 minutes north!

This property is a nature lovers dream. Wake up to a hot cup of coffee and watch the deer graze in the fields, the ducks flopping around in the pond or the amazing collection of birds that make the area their home. Believe it or not there is even a mink that makes an appearance every now and then. Don't forget your binoculars and camera.

If you're a cyclist you're just have to get on your bike and pedal, any direction you choose will give you a day on the bike that is hard to compete with anywhere in the country.

There is also a great grocery store only about four miles away - plus a farmers market on the weekends during the summer- so you can utilize the fully equipped kitchen and gas BBQ. Like wine? Follow the local wine trail and sample some local grape goodness.

At night, flip on the gas fireplace, pop in a DVD and watch a movie on our flat screen TV or sit on the porch and listen to the owls hooting while you stare up at a crystal clear sky.

Beautiful, relaxing location and a house with everything we needed! A wonderfully stocked kitchen had everything we needed to make multiple meals, and the restaurant suggestions were spot-on. I hope to make it back to this retreat in Hillsdale again!

Charming and well kept property. The house has a small footprint but plenty of room for 4-6 guests with everything on one floor. The large fenced yard was great for the dogs - and we enjoyed the duck pond, gazebo, Adirondack benches and large willow-type trees.

Christopher was a great host - incredibly helpful and responsive. All of the instructions, guides and area recommendations were great. The town is very cute, has a good variety of things to do, and is easy to get to.

I had a wonderful stay at Chris' home in Hillsdale. Chris responded quickly to messages and provided a thorough guidebook which helped greatly during the self check-in process. The home itself is perfect for a getaway for 4 people. We especially appreciated that the kitchen came fully equipped with basic kitchenware. As the disclaimer says, the airbnb doesn't have wifi but this made the trip more enjoyable as we were really able to unplug and unwind after long ski day! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Catamount area.

My wife and I purchased this house a few years ago and it's our favorite place to spend time and recharge from a busy lifestyle. I'm a cyclist and spend my days here carving out new routes or just going up and down Bash Bish Falls while my wife takes in the sun along with a book or three. However, we're often out of town and thought we would open up the house to other people to enjoy when we're not able to be there. It's a very special property and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. If you come later in the summer you may be able to enjoy some fresh vegetables from the garden.
