Enter the home via the sunporch. The kitchen is at the back of the property with built-in hutch with glass doors, full-size refrigerator, full-size stove, microwave and separate eating area. Two windows over the sink for plenty of light.
The living room has 4 tall windows with beautiful woodwork. Ceiling fan, amoire, HDTV with cable and music channels. Large sofa makes into a queen sleeper. Loveseat, chair and desk.
The bedroom has 3 windows, a large walk-in closet, two dressers, two nightstands, HDTV and a king bed.
The French doors separate the living room and bedroom. The airy, updated bath has a generous walk-in tile shower.
Movies and books are yours to enjoy during your stay.
Microwave, coffee pot, mixer and many, many more kitchen amenities and gadgets provided.

The blue-green-grey kitchen compliments the tropical Bamboo Stalk green covering the living room and bedroom walls. Wicker and rattan furnishings create lush, tropical beach surroundings. All rooms are well-lit and have ceiling fans along with views outdoors.

Outdoors is a gas grill, Bistro table and chairs as well as Adirondak chairs for relaxing and an umbrella.
Also downstairs is the laundry room with a half bath and private, off-street parking for two cars.
Accommodations are upstairs, with the bottom space used only for storage and the laundry.
Location: Just one and a half blocks from Williams Pier and sunny Gulfport Beach, this lushly landscaped and lit property is private and quiet, yet ideally located in the heart of it all. Come and watch the dolphins play, or the egrets and herons fish. Listen to the call of seagulls or the wild green parrots that frequent the neighborhood.
Located just a short 2 blocks away are restaurants and shops, one of which even has the local post office inside! Gulfport's library is but a few blocks away and if you feel like shopping you can take the City bus service to Tyrone Mall. It stops just two blocks from The Sand Dollar. Try your hand (or feet!) at salsa or ballroom dancing at the converted Gulfport Casino. And still another attraction is Hickman's Theatre, with live plays. Regardless of the time of year you come to visit, you'll find something exciting and fun to do. Weekly farmer's market. Car recommended.
Golf, tennis, kayaking, swimming and biking are all easily accessible from The Sand Dollar. A perfect location for

Fantastically funky artsy beach neighborhood, perfect for walking, biking and enjoying excellent restaurants. Walk to the beach, to the Gulfport Casino, waterfront restaurants, Gulfport's quirky shops, the library and the theater. Excellent restaurants for all tastes and budgets, some earning "best of the bay" awards. Live music many nights of the week.
Yes, but a car is still recommended to fully experience the surrounding areas.

We now have Glad To Have You, a guest portal that provides detailed rental logistics prior to your trip. Get all the details such as WiFi passwords, check-in and out info, instructions for AV equipment and nearby activities.
Gulfport does not have curbside recycling of glass, so please do not place it in any of the recycle containers. There is a place you can take it about a mile from the house, but you are under no obligation to do so. If you don't want to take glass to the disposal site, please just place it in the regular trash.

PETS - PETS are permitted in the property only with prior approval and payment of additional fees.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY – The maximum number of guests is limited to six (6) persons. An additional charge or $10.00 per person per night for guests in addition to six (6) will be assessed and must be arranged for, and paid, in advance. Any guests in excess of the maximum number of guests specified above, for any reason or for any length of time, MUST have our written permission. Having parties in our home or anywhere else on the property is forbidden. No RVs or campers may be used anywhere on the property. Violation of this provision will cause forfeiture of your entire security deposit.
MINIMUM STAY – This property requires a three (3) night minimum stay. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. If a rental is taken for less than three days, the guest will be charged the three-night rate.
NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE
HURRICANE OR STORM POLICY – No refunds will be given unless:
• The state or local authorities order mandatory evacuations in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning area" and/or
• A "mandatory evacuation order has been given for the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning" area of residence of a vacationing guest.
• The day that the authorities order a mandatory evacuation order in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning," area, we will refund:
o Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered;
o Any unused portion of rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive, and wants to shorten the stay, to come in after the Hurricane Warning is lifted; and
o Any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive during the "Hurricane Warning" period.

What do I do in my spare time? I don't understand the question!?
Fun fact about me. We foster kittens until they’re ready for adoption. Our first family was 7 kittens with ringworm. This required twice-weekly visits to the shelter for lime-sulfur dips and complete cleaning of the room twice weekly. And we utterly failed as fosters! We adopted 2 of the 7!

My full-time job is overseeing the investments and financial operations at a 48-year old family foundation based in Austin. The foundation seeks innovative projects in the area of health, education, human services and community affairs.
What is it like to have me as a host? We are prepared and want our guests to be prepared as well. Once we send arrival details guests rarely have questions, but we’re here if you need us. We have a message tree set up so that requests go to 3 phone numbers to make sure we can respond as quickly as possible to a guest’s need. We also use an app that guests can access from their phone or computer to get info about the area and the home during their stay. We try to think of everything and have our homes set up for travelers. What am I like as a traveler? I like to be on my own and don’t require much interaction although I’d be happy to meet our hosts.
Do I have a life motto? I’m a big fan of big-picture dreams but not being married to them. Things change, people change and sometimes you just need to go in a different direction. I plan when necessary but I don’t plan everything. I’m fairly prepared most of the time – I’m always looking for another way if the first way doesn’t work out. I almost always have a “plan B” in my back pocket.
We take a team approach to managing and caring for our homes. We’ve had relationships with many of our service providers/team members for YEARS. They know we don’t want our guests going without air-conditioning on the 4th of July. They know we want yards mowed on schedule. They know we want our homes clean. We know you want more than a couple of forks and some plastic glasses in the kitchen! We know you want clean, fresh linens and household equipment that works.
