We had a wonderful stay at Casale il Caggio. Paolo and Gabriella are kind and generous hosts, and the property is beautiful. Gabriella is an incredible chef - the highlight of our stay was taking a cooking lesson and eating delicious dinner, breakfasts, and many decadent desserts. We hope to return!
We travelled in Italy using AirBnB for two weeks and this place was our absolute favorite. A truly Tuscan farmhouse, but much more important: run by the two most amazing people we met during our trip. Gabriella and Paolo are nothing short of the best hosts you can imagine. With true Italian gusto they are providing all the goodness of Tuscany to their guests. The breakfast is nothing short of amazing, baked fresh everyday with love by Gabriella. Make sure you enjoy at least one of Gabriella's home-cooked meals or even follow her cooking class. But we must warn you that once you've tried one of her meals, you're probably going to be disappointed going anywhere else. And if you're like us, you might just consider not leaving there at all :-)
Our stay here was nice. The highlight was Paolo's wife cooking! Her food was amazing... You can have a traditional home meal, an extravagant one! The breakfast is included, wonderful cakes. The house itself is on a large property, fruit trees and nice flowers. I think this room is maybe a little overpriced if you aren't going to spend a lot of time on the property. Make sure you plan to use all amenities such as the hot tub, pool, and have a dinner( not included in price), then it is a good price. The room that we had was inside their house and you may feel a lack of privacy because sound travels easy there. Maybe their other rooms have more noise privacy, be sure to ask. Overall a great stay, really liked our kind hosts!
Casale il Caggio was an amazing place that we never wanted to leave. From the moment we got there Paolo & Gabriella made us feel at home. They were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our time there. The surrounding grounds and rooms are beautiful. We ate dinner both nights that was prepared by Gabriella, 5 courses and everything was delicious! The second night we cooked with Gabriella which I would definitely recommend, she is an amazing cook. We also enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi and sitting on the patio with some wine. During the day it was easy to drive to nearby towns to explore as well, nothing more than 30 min drive away which was perfect. I can't wait to return one day. Grazie mille Paolo e Gabriella!
We are really sorry Mr Rodriguez wasn’t satisfied about his staying, our first aim is always to please our guests. However we have to highlight that our prices include bedroom and breakfast but never dinner. Perhaps the misunderstanding come from Mr Rodriguez spoke only Portuguese. During Mr Rodriguez staying the outside swimming pool was not in maintenance but it was not usable for the external temperature, in fact the law in Italy forbids bathing under 18°C of the water. However he could bath in the indoor hot jacuzzy to his liking.
About the freshness of the morning buffet our guests, who come back to visit us in these 15 years, can tell we prepare everything every morning from bread to cakes and to drink we have organic and fresh apple juice.
Finally we want to point out the on-line description of our structure never says anything about production of cheese and wine, we have animals and we just produce vegetable and olive oil.
We are sorry if we have disappointed Mr Rodriguez but we think it is not our fault.
We had an amazing stay here! It's a little hard to find but it's worth it. The hosts were super sweet and very welcoming. Our room was nice and cozy with a great view of the yard. Definitely eat dinner there! We had an authentic Tuscan meal that was fanastic, lots of courses so make sure to have an empty stomach!
Best Agroturismo in Tuscany!
We've spent 4 wonderful days at Casale Il Caggio. Everything was amazing. The breakfast with home made bread, local products and everyday Gabriela would have prepared a couple of delicious new cakes. The room was big, nicely decorated with rustic original furnitures, super comfy bed, big (email hidden)ere is also appartments. There is a very big jacuzzi with views to the nature, it is almost a swiming pool. And there is a real swiming pool as well. The place is really beautiful and quiet, and location is great to visit Tuscany. But the best of all was the warm and nice hosts Paolo and Gabriela, that makes us feel like at home at every moment. We even enjoyed a cooking class with Gabriela and the most delicious dinner of our holidays. We will for sure return and recommend to everybody! Thanks Paolo and Gabriela again
