The Borghetto of Peccio Martino is an ancient stone hamlet, situated in the heart of Umbria, surrounded by woods and vineyards. The optimal position on the border with Tuscany, permits to reach easily some of the most beautiful cities of our land: Perugia, Assisi, Città della Pieve, Siena and Montepulciano. The apartment that we offer, with stone and exposed beams, has a double room, a twin room, 2 bathrooms and a full furnished kitchen. In the living room, with a beautiful stone fireplace, there are two sofa beds. We offer guests bed linen and towels that are replaced weekly. Guests can also enjoy the large garden around the house and use the swimming pool of the structure, whose panoramic position, makes the atmosphere very relaxed and charming. There is ample space to relax in tranquility, drinking a good a glass of wine or a cup of tea, reading a book and converse with other guests.
The price of the apartment varies according to season:
daily 120 - 240 euro
weekly 700 - 900 euro
In Autumn and Winter the heating cost is paid apart
Our farmhouse is near Perugia (20 minutes by car), just 5 minutes from a village where you can find a supermarket, the post office with ATM and a pharmacy. Thus it can be easily reached through the main Italian motorway A1 (Milan - Rome). In 2 hs you can reach Rome or Florence, in 1 h Siena and the famous Val di Chiana in Tuscany. The nearest airport is Perugia Sant' Egidio where there are daily flights from Milan. It's also possible to reach easily Roma Fiumicino and Roma Ciampino airports by the motorway. Perugia has an important train station where there are also some offices to rent a car.
This is a wonderful spot and we found it a great place to unwind after three days in Rome. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and our hosts made us extremely welcome, including hosting a supper for all the guests on one night.
The setting is wonderful and the pool had an amazing view over the surrounding countryside. Even though all the apartments were full, we never felt that there were too many people there and the pool was never busy.
We made day trips to Siena, Gubbio, Lake Trasimeno and other smaller towns from the apartment and once you have your bearing, they are all easy to reach.
If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing base from which to explore Umbria I would recommmend Il Borghetto.
We were very impressed with this place. and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. It is in such a wonderful setting, surrounded by fabulous countryside with beautiful views, particularly from the pool side.
The hosts are very genial and accommodating and the whole place feels very well looked after and tended. Our apartment with private terrace was very spacious and clean and well stocked. The pool was the real hit for us though with 2 children and gloriously hot sunshine!
WONDERFUL!! That's how me and my co-travelers (husband and parents) would resume our stay at the Country House! Everything was exactly like, or even better, as described and shown in the pictures, Emanuele's parents were wonderful hosts, offering advice, wine and melons to us, and telling us the story of how they found and restored the farm, and transformed it into the wonderful place it is today!
For everyone that is looking for a quiet and up-scale place to relax and explore the beauties of Umbria - don't hesitate to book it!
We stayed for one week in an apartment with two rooms, a spacious living room, big kitchen and bathroom. Everything is beautifully decorated and clean - one can feel the love that the owners are dedicating to the place every day. There is a big pool with an amazing view which is being cleaned every morning and environmental consciousness and "sustainable living" is not just an empty word here!!! WONDERFUL - and definitely worth a visit!!!
